Job Description:

Quantitative Services (QS) is a resource pool managed within GBAM OPS Shared Operations (GOSO) providing support to many different areas of the Bank such as Front Office, Market Risk, Corporate Treasury, Finance and Operations. QS is a sub-specialty within GOSO focusing on development and operation of processes with a high degree of quantitative analysis, data management or technology development. QS consists of Business As Usual (BAU) and Initiative teams, both of which help drive improved processes, process automation, strategic infrastructure adoption and operational efficiencies by leveraging innovative techniques and quantitative solutions. Our BAU processes are for Global Reconciliation Operations, Quartz Controls, Market Risk Data Quality (DQ), Uncleared Margin DQ and Disputes, Approved Product Control and Client Valuations.

Within these processes we seek to optimize all manner of control and execution via process improvements, process automation and advanced Management Information Systems. We use our BAU as experimental areas for techniques we can apply to other areas and hence require people dedicated to change, challenge and continuous improvement. We can also use our BAU resource to assist other Operational areas if needed. The QS group covers all lines of business across the globe and has a significant footprint in India.

The role is a Quantitative Services Senior Professional and is part of the Global Reconciliations Analysis & Strategic Change team within Quantitative Services.  

Work is project and initiative driven. Must be comfortable working in an open ended environment where requirements are subject to evolve over time. Candidate should be inquisitive and able to collect information from various teams throughout the bank. Must be able to work individually as well as in small teams. This role will support process improvements that implement modern technology solutions and apply emerging technology to address business needs. Business Analyst/Project Manager on BAU and initiative efforts in support of the Global Accounting & Reconciliations Operations Group, with a wider remit across the Quantitative Services footprint.

Enterprise Role Overview:

Leads a large project or multiple projects that are significant in scope and impact. Works independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results. May provide technical leadership. Interacts extensively with internal or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems or to develop, sell or service significant revenue-generating products. Has extensive functional or professional knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Develops financial modeling tools for derivative products, applying the theory and mathematics behind various models. Builds out analytical and technical tools for validations of new models/methodology. Provides in-depth impact analysis or scenario analysis of quantitative measurements. Develops reporting of various risk metrics complied with business and regulatory requirements. Understands financial products across all asset classes and has extensive knowledge of technical implementations. Posses advanced degree in physic, applied mathematics, statistics/probability or another heavy quantitative discipline.

Required Skills: (Must have these skills to be minimally qualified)

  • 3+ years of related experience in project management skills, data analysis, stakeholder communication and risk/issue management
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills (Lookups, pivot tables, charting, and formatting)
  • Basic knowledge of financial instruments
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to concisely communicate complex ideas
  • Presentation skills/intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
  • Proven ability to lead and participate on technically-focused projects
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required with preference for Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science or other quantitative field
  • Strong traded product knowledge
  • Exposure to AGILE methodology
  • Exposure to programming languages such as Visual Basic, C, C++, Java, JavaScript and Python
  • Experience with SQL and object databases
  • Trading experience
  • Statistical Analysis experience
