Job Title: Consultant II - System Engineer

Role Description:

The position will span systems engineering activities supporting Mainframe (System z) Storage projects with varying degrees of complexity – includes system design, build, development, implementation, maintenance, operations, and client support across infrastructure and software. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to work under minimal supervision and will be responsible for researching and analysing information, the drawing conclusions and presenting them back to the team so that they can be implemented

The Team:

The Mainframe Storage team is a dynamic global team, with people based in the US, UK and Asia that support Mainframe storage systems in the US and the UK. The team are currently engaged on storage projects such as: Data replication, Data Assurance and Snapshotting, Disaster Recovery and related tests to support the build out of new environments

Core Skills:

  • Experienced Mainframe Storage administrator with extensive years of experience
  • Strong technical documentation writing skills
  • Strong experience with Hitachi Vantara DASD synchronous and asynchronous replication
  • Strong experience with IBM TAPE GRID configurations
  • Strong experience with Broadcom (Brocade) FICON directors and channel extension
  • Involved with implementation of new MF Storage technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of ACC/SRS, ACS, DFHSM, ICKDSF, CA1, User Catalogs, ABARS, TDMF, and DFDSS
  • Provide 24x7 on-call rotation support with weekend and evening work required
  • Self-starter and able to work without hands-on supervision

Desired Skills

  • Proficient with SAS, VISIO, MS Office, and REXX
  • Project management skills
  • Assembler, CLIST, and REXX knowledge
  • Conceptual understanding of Mainframe Operations
