Technology Partnership Development – Analyst I

Job Description:

Seeking a Technology Partnership Development-Analyst I professional, who does team discovers and introduces emerging technologies, fosters and strengthens technology partnerships across Bank of America’s broad technology ecosystem and communicates enterprise strategy to Venture Capital Firms and start-ups. The team works closely with stakeholders in strategy, leadership and technology roles across Bank of America, resulting in a unique view of the enterprise across all lines of business. Reminder: We are looking for analysis and strategy professionals, not developers or engineers.

Responsibilities May Include:
•Maintain our internal relationship tracking for companies and Venture Capital Firms, including a database of interactions, CRM, VC Profiles, and overall data integrity
•Support TPD team with engagements with corporate and investment banking teams on vendor information exchange
•Support TPD notes on relationship building with stakeholder

Prepare briefing materials on partner relationships and technology strategy
•Interact directly with 3rd parties to begin formal relationship with BofA
•Assist in the planning of our Technology Summits (NYC, Bay Area)
•Research to support enterprise-wide views of our strategic vendor relationships (public & private) for CTOs/CIOs and above

•Research key technology areas (i.e. financial technology, artificial Intelligence, information security, etc.) to assist our technology and business executives on long-term strategic planning

About this Technology Partnership Development team:

The Technology Partnership Development team works closely with stakeholders in strategy, leadership and technology roles across Bank of America, resulting in a unique view of the enterprise across all lines of business and performs the following functions:
Emerging technology evaluation. Engage with emerging technology companies and the venture capital community, sharing Bank of America’s macro views on technology, providing updates on portfolio companies, and learning about new relevant companies. Partner internally with business & technology groups and understand their strategies and goals.
•Business development. Engage with Global Corporate and Investment Banking and clients; Equity Research, Sales & Trading and clients; and other front office business partners.  This client-facing role requires strong communication skills, both written and oral, and a keen understanding of the business needs and technology strategies across the Firm.
•Strategic partnership development. Engage with strategic partners to optimize vendor spending, relationship capital, and industry leadership.  This role requires organizing, structuring and leading executive briefings with vendors, practitioners, and partners; leading follow-up activities; and identifying areas and opportunities to reduce technology costs, reduce risk, and increase business-enabling technology capabilities

Required Skills:

  • We are looking for analysis and strategy professionals, not developers or engineers.

  • Exceptionally strong capability with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint work experience in the industry.

  • Work experience preparing materials for clients/partners and technology strategy.

  • Work experience with 3rd parties

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

  • Adaptability and comfort functioning within a rapidly changing environment

  • Collaborative and comfortable working with a team

  • Ability to navigate a large organization

  • Intellectual curiosity and passion in the evolving technology ecosystem and a desire to continue learning

  • An IT/Banking/Financing/ industry background. VC/Startup knowledge/experience preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • BA/BS degree with an emphasis on business or technology (or the intersection thereof)

  • Functional knowledge and a strong interest in technology, including but not limited to key focus areas: hybrid cloud, application development, artificial intelligence and machine learning, financial technology, information security, and enterprise software

  • Basic understanding and/or strong desire to learn and understand capital markets related to venture capital, investment banking, corporate banking, and/or institutional equities
