Job Description:

Position Summary

Release Manager is responsible for deep knowledge of a portfolio of platforms, applications, and products and partners with technology teams as well as Production Support teams to guide changes into production in a stable and risk free manner. This requires broad knowledge of the SDLC/Change policy, processes environments, and tools as well as the production risk control framework. Monthly managed release events are utilized most commonly to deliver change into production. This role is responsible for planning, orchestrating, and managing the release events. Responsible for broad knowledge of the environments, tools, processes utilized by the various teams to develop, test, execute changes for the change requests. Partner with Technical project managers, application development and testing teams to plan, execute, and deliver change initiatives into production ensuring risk control and production stability.

Responsible for planning, orchestrating and managing the monthly release for the portfolio including working in the release control room thru the production release event.

Required Skills

Experience in leading software development projects
Experience in Release Management
Experience in SDLC life cycle process
Experience in both technical and functional capacities.
6+ years of active involvement in project management with strong track record of delivering projects/releases per expectations.
Solid Verbal and Written communication skills
Able to work collaboratively
4 year degree in Computer Science/MIS/equivalent professional experience

Desired Skills

Technical Skills: Should be a fast learner and ability to understand complex applications with Documentum or Filenet background is preferred.
Communication Skills: Planning, scheduling, resolving conflicts and strong communication skills are required. This required excellent. Should have the ability to drive triage calls and work with multiple stakeholders. Should be able to see a 360 degrees picture when planning and coordinating changes. Should be able to gather all release artifacts. Should have strong written skills to create change requests on a daily basis.
