Vice President, Network Operations Tier 3 Governance Lead, Core Technology Organisation

Your background

Tier 3 Network Engineers lead engagement and resolution of large events, which are incident or multiple incidents that are significant in scope and impact. They are subject matter experts in Network Services technologies and provide leadership and strategic/tactical direction related to the successful resolution of a network incident. Provides key leadership on troubleshooting bridges and demonstrates a wide awareness of various Network and Client technologies that could be engaged to achieve event and incident resolution.  Actions include directing technical staff, further engagement of additional resources, and additional escalations of suppliers and carriers. Works with other teams including Engineering & Deployment teams, regional stakeholders, and suppliers to identify root cause of critical event issues and implement restoration activities, including participation on Change Management bridges.

  • Minimum of 10+ years with hands-on experience in Operations support in the banking and finance industry
  • Strong background and understanding of Routing/Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancer, DDI, Proxy and AAA products.
  • Proven leadership experience, ability to motivate teams and drive execution, with performance driven with the necessary intensity and optimism to succeed and deliver
  • Ability to understand complex system interactions and break down into components and interface to enumerate failure scenario
  • Incident management experience and ability to manage large scale outages.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and root cause investigation techniques with a desire to expand horizon to next-gen products, applications and technology.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical counterparts from different time zones
  • Understanding in Automation (Python, Ansible, YAML, REST API, XML and JSON).
  • ITIL processes knowledge: Incident Management, Request Management, and Problem Management

What you can expect

Network Operations Tier 3 Governance lead role is expected to be SME for network infrastructure to support daily operation and provide strong guidelines and quick remediation for highly critical incident. Promote good working and unbiased environment and diversity.

What you will do

  • Lead the APAC Tier 3 Governance team to provide day to day level 3 (expert level) support for network infra globally.
  • Partner with the STI and Engineering/Architecture and other infrastructure teams to design/improve resiliency and stability of end to end environment to meet business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and consultancy to downstream network operation team and network partner.
  • Oversee service transition of finished projects to Operations and ensure systems are in compliant and adhere to the laws, rules and regulations of the bank and the regional entities. Documentation are updated (i e. network diagrams, flow of traffic).
  • Represent network Ops on Regional Design Review (RDR), and participate in design best practices.
  • Review Normal/Emergency changes from an Operational perspective.
  • Review monitoring tools and make sure all new devices are on-boarded even before the start of Service transition. 
  • Serve as an escalation point for Network issues, On-call support during APAC off hours.
  • Manage and promote a risk culture within the team and ensuring identification and remediation of all known and potential risk.
