AB Senior Underwriter II - WC - Bank of America Business Capital - Chicago, Milwaukee or Detroit

This position focuses full-time on credit underwriting for Bank of America Business Capital’s Central Division (“Business Capital”). Business Capital is the number one asset based lender providing financing to manufacturers, distributors and service companies with loan requirements from $5 million to $2 billion. Loans support growth, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, restructuring, refinance, expansion, recapitalization and working capital.

Position focuses on credit underwriting and review of prospects and/or new credit relationships to Business Capital. The AB Senior Underwriter II is an experienced credit professional capable of independent activity on complex and sensitive credit transactions.

Works in a team setting with business development officers, relationship managers and/or product specialists and is responsible to develop, structure, analyze, covenant, document, fund and close ABL transactions. Interfaces directly with clients and prospects, financial sponsors and/or financial intermediaries (including outside accountants, legal counsel, appraisers, field examiners, etc.). 

Full understanding of Bank of America and BABC credit policies is required to identify and resolve issues during the underwriting, documentation and closing processes. Responsibilities include working in a team format to deliver a superior product to our clients, investors and the Firm. Usually requires 8+ years of related credit experience. Bachelor's Degree Required.

Required Skills

  • Background in credit, underwriting, and structuring of corporate lending transactions
  • Completion of a formal credit training program is desired
  • Familiarity with asset-based lending across broad industries including energy/oil & gas
  • Able to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships
  • Demonstrates strong teaming behavior that creates win-win solutions that build trust
  • Demonstrates deep and broad business acumen - a strong business person with technical skills
