Job Description:

  • Financial analysis of companies in target, analysis will include maintaining and updating comparable company trading analysis and transaction analysis

  • Assume responsibility for monitoring targeted clients in terms of news and announcements

  • Support on transactions across the banks products.  Such support may include maintaining financial models, coordinating due diligence, managing working group lists and timetables

  • Research on companies and industries and support on client initiatives including generating and developing new ideas to present

  • Formulate and develop client pitch-books and analysis in addition to supporting other bankers within the team

  • Build direct cross functional relationships with bankers in product and regional business units

The Team

  • The UK and Ireland Investment banking team includes 11 MDs and a further 40 other colleagues who focus is on UK and Irish opportunities

  • Our prime focus is on covering our 55 clients where we are nominated adviser and corporate broker including 30 in the FTSE100 ranging from HSBC to Diageo via Just Eat to GSK but we are also responsible for all other UK business including UK  IPOs, sellsides and other capital raisings .

  • We are an integrated team doing both the broking and advisory coverage as well as any M&A or equity execution

  • Any junior colleagues will have a mix of responsibilities including being part of dedicated client teams as well as being part of execution teams doing work as varied as public offers, disposals, equity placings, leverage finance issuance or IPOs

  • We aim to give a very wide range of experience across products and sectors

  • Due to our large corporate broking franchise our juniors will have direct client exposure from an early stage

Core skills

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills as well as proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language a plus

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance)
