Job Description:

  • Support on transactions across the banks products (M&A, ECM, DCM, leveraged finance).  Such support may include building and maintaining financial models, coordinating and performing due diligence, developing and updating deal timetables and other admin tasks

  • Research on companies and sub-industries within healthcare and support on client initiatives including generating and developing new ideas to present

  • Formulate and develop client pitch-books and analysis in addition to supporting other bankers within the team and working with analysts

  • Screening of potential opportunities for clients within various healthcare subsegments

  • Financial analysis of companies as potential clients and targets, analysis will include financial modelling, maintaining and updating comparable company trading analysis and transaction analysis and other analytical tasks

  • Responsibility for monitoring targeted clients in terms of news and announcements

  • Build direct cross functional relationships with bankers in product and regional business units

  • The EMEA healthcare team is a very welcoming, high performing and sociable environment to work in

  • The team has been built by and around a long-serving set of healthcare specialist bankers, with all of the current MDs having worked in the team since their associate years (13-20+ years)

  • The team has grown from a relatively small team in Europe to a team of c.25 bankers over the past 5 years

  • We regularly partner with our large and successful US healthcare team, and also have multiple dedicated healthcare bankers in Asia and regional partners across the world

  • The team has a very strong reputation of high performance (including #1 position in EMEA in 2020) whilst priding itself on a fun, collaborative and sociable culture

  • There are opportunities every day to work on the biggest deals, cover the most innovative healthcare companies and learn from some of the most successful bankers

Core skills

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills as well as good levels of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Some experience of in-person presenting and pitching

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and excitement to learn more

  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language a plus

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance)
