Senior Business Control Specialist – Compensation

Job Description:

The Sr. Business Control Specialist will provide diverse analytical, process, and project support for the design, development and execution of Formulaic Incentive End to End Governance Team strategy.  Key priorities for our team are control monitoring, remediation of issues, identification of emerging risks, and enhancing processes.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen control environment and/or to satisfy Audit remediation direction
  • Function as an internal GHR business controls partner for a designated LOB to identify and escalate risks and ensure process adherence
  • Support annual Corporate Audit exams and/or Risk reviews
  • Provide additional project support for key initiatives across the broader Formulaic Incentive team
  • Perform control monitoring and execute controls that are owned by the Formulaic Incentive team

Enterprise Role Overview

Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB/ECF. Gather and organize data in order to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. Prepare documentation for the tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have over 5+ years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience. May manage staff.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years data/quantitative analysis experience and strong analytical and problem solving skills – experience gathering, organizing, analyzing and presenting large amounts of data clearly and concisely to help make fact-based decisions, inclusive of data mining and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Effectively deals with ambiguity and adapts to changing circumstances       
  • Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written, including ability to articulate recommendations and results at a level that resonates across many different audiences
  • Relationship Management - ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • WebEx and SharePoint proficiency
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications
  • PowerPoint - ability to assimilate complex data into a results-based story, including the ability to develop concise, effective presentations
  • Strong reporting capability; prefer skills to simplify and automate where possible.
  • Ability to manage own time effectively, prioritize issues, work independently and take on new responsibility.
  • Be a demonstrated self-starter and a results-oriented professional who can develop and manage relationships across multiple groups.
  • Strong attention to detail; exercise strong quality control over own work.
