Debit Card Sr. Product Manager

Job Description:

The Debit Card Sr. Product Manager develops and manages highly complex products and operational procedures. While this role will have responsibility for multiple product management functions, there be will have a heavy focus on the operations and systems required to manage the debit product.  Competencies required include demonstrated strategic planning/product management skills, strong analytical skills with breadth of view, and 7 to 10 years of related experience.

Debit Card Product manages over 25MM active cards and is the highest volume payment product in the Consumer Bank with over 8B transactions annually, delivering $2B+ revenue each year. This is an integral role for the Debit Card Product team and will be responsible for developing and executing the holistic product strategy, competitive positioning, hi-tech, hi-touch innovation, operational management and partner integration.

The Debit Card Sr. Product Manager Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring existing debit card processes are running efficiently
  • Identifying, correcting and remediating errors by working independently and collaborating with partners and vendors
  • Leading and supporting the development of new debit services including project management, monitoring and execution.
  • Leveraging subject matter expertise and data analysis to develop strategies, resolve issues, create business cases and drive portfolio growth
  • Partner closely with Visa and Mastercard for their support on the growth strategy
  • Has ownership and drives operational management and improvement opportunities such as fee management, card issuance strategy, returned cards and call reduction
  • Assumes ownership of one or more key product features, including performance and enhancements (ex: Stop Pay, Digital Debit Card, Lock/Unlock, etc)

  • Lead with an executive presence. Proven skills for building partnerships and influencing to achieve strategy – challenges status quo
  • Effective at working across multiple partner teams to execute initiatives and manage change
  • Adept at managing day-to-day details to ensure risk is minimized and client experience and P&L are optimized
  • Strives to bring new thoughts and ideas to teams in order to drive innovation and unique solutions
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to support performance enablement
  • Self-motivated and proactively seeks to learn more competitive landscape, growth trends, and applicability to debit
  • Process oriented, looks for ways to continuously improve efficiency and reduce risk
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Visio)
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working in debit card, credit card or a related payments area

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master's Degree Preferred
  • 7-10 years experience working in debit card, credit card or a related payments area
  • Understanding of Bank of America operations and systems technology
