Senior Vice President, Senior Product Manager (Finacle) – APAC GBT Bank-in-a-Box Centre of Excellence

  • Experienced and dynamic leader with minimum 15 years of relevant experience. Result oriented. Consulting mind-set with demonstrated aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.

  • Experience in Core Banking transformation, and in designing core banking solutions that fit into a complex product ecosystem.

  • Experience implementing Finacle Enterprise Payments. Excellent trench-level experience with Finacle APIs, Finacle interface development, Finacle customization, and Finacle extension development.

  • Sound knowledge of the Payments domain & of local Asia markets requirements.

  • Hands-on industry experience in Finacle/Real Time Payments implementation, along with deep knowledge of APAC Payments Clearings, and interface requirements with last mile gateways/regulatory systems.

  • Keen appreciation of engineering and challenges associated with implementing low-latency, high availability, scalable, and resilient infrastructure. Experience in designing solutions to address these challenges.

  • Leadership experience driving executive level engagement and discussions.

  • People management experience, leading a team of domain SMEs, developers, and testers.

  • Experience working with product and service vendors, and with the onshore-offshore delivery model.

  • Experience in setting up and maturing Agile teams. Conversant with SDLC automation tools and with agile development practices such as TDD, CI, and CD.

  • Experience working in complex matrix organization setup. Ability to influence & work with regional and global partners/stakeholders to drive the program forward.

Bank of America has embarked on a multi-year core banking transformation journey to replace its legacy core banking platform with modern technology platforms. As part of the core banking platform transformation, the bank is revamping its end to end ecosystem to improve operational & technological efficiency. The core banking platform supports multiple functions in Global Banking and Markets business: e.g. payments, deposits, credit, trade finance, foreign exchange, general ledger. The platform is being built in an ongoing and agile process to easily adapt to new technologies, integrate more tools, and provide a structure that is able to evolve over time. At the core of this transformation is the Bank-in-a-Box (BiB) platform. BiB uses simpler architecture and modern technology, eliminates applications, and is easier to enhance and update.

The Bank-in-a-Box (BiB) roadmap spans several years, covering Global Payments Transformation (GPT), CLI, and Branch replacement. The first BiB implementation was successfully completed in Oct 2020 for Indonesia, to address the local regulatory requirement to host core banking infrastructure onshore. 2021 initiatives include SEPA Instant, HK Real Time Payments and Regulatory mandates such as Indonesia Direct Debits and Indonesia RTP. The GPT budget is expected to increase significantly in 2022, with implementations across APAC, EMEA and LATAM. The BiB Centre of Excellence will be at the heart of this Payments Transformation Program.

An experienced Senior Product Manager with niche hands-on experience in customization and integration of Finacle Core Banking and Finacle Enterprise Payments is required to strengthen the BiB Centre of Excellence and drive this multi-year transformation journey. The candidate will play a leadership role in solution ideation, design, and delivery on the transformation program. He/She will work with product teams, technical leads, and vendor SMEs, and will have direct accountability in ensuring that business requirements are designed and implemented as per expectations. Strong senior exec communications and engagement skills are a must. The leader will bring cross functional product and technical knowledge, and a keen understanding of both discrete product/feature implementations and broader “branch” implementations, and will play a central role in challenging design and process from domain, technical and process efficiency perspectives.

This role requires niche hands-on industry experience in Finacle/Real Time Payments implementation, along with deep knowledge of APAC Payments Clearings, and interface requirements with last mile gateways/regulatory systems. These niche skills are critical to evolve creative E2E solutions that meet stringent SLA, performance and availability requirements of clients and regulators.

What you will do

  • Lead a team of experienced Business Analysts/Product Owners to drive analysis and solution design in Finacle for regional Banking & Payment initiatives with focus on digitization and modernization occurring in region

  • Work with Product, Operations, and Compliance teams across the region to understand requirements from regional regulators and clearing schemes.

  • Design E2E solutions to address complex regional regulatory mandates, such as, Real Time Payments, 24x7, Data localization, etc., including stringent SLA, performance and availability requirements of clients and regulators.

  • Apply niche product, domain, and platform expertise to evolve the BiB Product Roadmap and design optimal solutions to complex business problems.

  • Provide leadership and guidance on functional and technical aspects the Finacle product. Leverage domain and product expertise to direction and drive project execution. Foresee and proactively address risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Align the Finacle product roadmap to the banks Payment’s Transformation roadmap.

  • Maximize Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) and re-use. Achieve global consistency across Capability, Solutions, User experience, Operational Reports

  • Define the approach to move Traditional Payment rails to near RTP 24/7 rails.

  • Understand Finacle product roadmap to support emerging capability (e.g. digital currencies).

  • Organize/Facilitate vendor demos to evaluate tools and solutions that may be adopted.

  • Manage user queries during feature implementation, and ensure that they are tracked and closed.

  • Participate in system design, SIT, and UAT to ensure that solutions are being delivered and tested as per requirements.

  • Ensure knowledge sharing and training on new product features.

  • Recommend and implement data migration and integration strategies.

  • Develop the Day-1 Operating model and support its implementation post go live.
