Data Scientist II - Model Operations & Model Governance

Job Description:

Bank of America is seeking a Data Scientist II to join the Chief Data Science Organization within Global Risk Management to work on the Model Operations team as part of Model Governance.  

The Data Scientist II will be working with model developers and model platform teams across the organization to:

·         Socialize the new set of Model Development Procedures

·         Become a subject matter expert on the procedures

·         Give detailed guidance on the procedures

·         Accept feedback and work to continuously improve the process

·         Track progress and work aggressively to progress the effort

·         Work with Model Platform teams to understand the relevance

·         Work with Model Ops tech team to guide deployment activities

·         Perform BAU work such as data quality review, playbook review, peer review and occasional project activity

Required Skills:

Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related field

Modeling experience (AI modeling a plus)

Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)

Process oriented

Able to work with tech model developers and model platform teams

Build Partnerships

Work with minimal oversight

Excel reporting

Quantitative skills applied to modelling

Preferred Skills:

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or history of AI/ML related journal publications

AI Model Operations (AIOps) experience

Technology platform owner and/or Tech Operations experience

Risk, audit, governance & controls experience

Business Process Modeling (BPM) experience

Experience in Financial Services

Comfortable working with data

Sharepoint administration

machine learning techniques and algorithms and getting them to production (statistical models, ensemble and deep learning models).

Previous data science related work experience and domain expertise within the banking/financial sector

Strong theoretical understanding behind ML/AI modelling techniques and algorithms - Statistical computer languages (Python (preferred), R SAS, etc.)
