Senior Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives PMO

Job Description:

Lead the assessment and execution of a single or multiple workstreams as part of a large-scale, enterprise change initiative, with cross-line of business and external impacts. This role will likely support multiple programs simultaneously, with program duration ranging from 3 to 24 months, and starting up on a rolling basis. 

The employee in role will partner with a line-of-business leaders or subject-matter-expert, as well as key support partners such as legal, risk, finance, technology, and operations.  Must have the abilities to navigate a global matrixed environment, leverage existing relationships and build new ones to deliver results.   Senior Project Manager will be responsible for analyzing present-state conditions, developing future-state approaches and facilitating implementation of solutions. Candidate must be willing to potentially learn a new line of business or function, and demonstrate a willingness to fully partner with business subject-matter-experts, not solely manage through a standardized process and tools. This position will be highly-visible, and requires a person who is very comfortable with fast-paced work, demanding timelines, and executive oversight.

Preferred candidates will have the following experience and skills:

  • Eight-plus years of change management / project management experience in a financial services firm
  • Ability to think, visualize and communicate strategically while operating tactically.
  • Strong written skills, and be comfortable presenting to senior leaders in such a manner that synthesizes complicated ideas for discussion and approval.
  • Understanding of Bank of America Enterprise Change Standards, Policy and Tools
  • Risk-based decision strategies, with the ability to assess, document, promote debate and drive resolution of risks with mitigation plans.
  • PMP or six-sigma certification is a plus, but not a requirement.
