Senior Cloud Automation Engineer, Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

The Cloud Automation Engineer works on end to end automation and enablement of platform as a service for variety of database, middleware and messaging products such as SQL, NoSQL, JBoss, Apache, Kafka etc.

The candidate will also work on various other automation initiatives that fit the big picture of innovation and cloud offerings across ADS Organization.

The candidate should be extremely comfortable with modern Spring Cloud technologies, Java, Restful APIs, Microservices, MongoDB, Ansible, OpenShift, Workflow Orchestration, Shell Scripting, and Test Driven Development,

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops complex requirements to accomplish "fit for future" cloud automation goals and build next gen Platform as a Service
  • Possesses deep understanding of core JAVA fundamentals as well Open Shift based application containerization
  • Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset
  • Understands the bigger picture and maintain an innovative mindset while designing solutions
  • Possesses strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp
  • Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements, sprint planning, grooming sessions etc.
  • Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Utilizes multiple scalable high performing microservices based architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements using Restful APIs and Test Driven Development.
  • Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
  • Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
  • Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
  • Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities.
  • Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack

Required Job Skills

  • 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology
  • 5+ years of working experience in Spring Cloud based solutions
  • Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture and experience building solutions using micro services
  • Possess a good understanding of connectivity and patterns around these products for integration with other in-house or external systems
  • Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills

Desired Skills

  • Very good knowledge of REST APIs, LDAP, Python, Shell Scripting.
  • Familiarity with Git, Agile methodology and Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence etc.
  • Logging Monitoring and Alerting tools
