Operations Consultant - MVSO - Reconciliation and Cash Control

Job Description:

Responsible for moderately complex financial activities involving the implementation of strategic plans, profitability analysis, forecasting and financial reporting for a line of business or staff area. Works on activities and projects with others within the business unit. May lead small projects and coordinate resources. In some cases, will act as team leader.

Responsibilities include:

Performing accounting duties and financial analysis of data for the Investor Accounting group in Mortgage Operations

Directing the day-to-day activities and processes including managing service level agreements, fluctuations in volume and fluctuations in staffing

Handling the implementation of new and revised systems, procedures and methods that apply to and improve the prospective units function(s)

Monitoring associate productivity and quality, to ensure sufficient development and training of associates.

Developing and implementing policies and procedures which support organization short-and long-term business plans and minimizes losses associated with inadequate information systems, operational problems, breach of internal controls, and fraud.

Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.

Communicating and interfacing cross-functionally with senior leadership

Planning and understanding macro management and cross-functional organization

Working with Unit Leader on strategies and processes

Performing related tasks as required

REQUIRED:

- 5+ years of accounting, reconciliation, investor accounting or comparable financial services experience

- Proficient in all MS Office applications

- Advanced Excel skills & usage of complex formulas

- Ability to interpret and understand implications of data

- Ability to communicate findings and potential impacts to leadership team

- Demonstrated ability to act in a leadership role

DESIRED:

- Investor Accounting Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or business information systems or equivalent work experience
