Director, Regulatory Relations Manager

Your background

  • Relevant years of relationship management experience, preferably managing regulatory relationships
  • A senior-level lawyer, compliance officer/manager, and/or financial services leader with deep knowledge of business banking, securities and applicable regulations.
  • Sound knowledge of key industry regulations and rules.
  • Strong communication (both written and oral) and presentation skills, including ability to prepare and present executive-level briefings
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop key relationships and work across the company to engage and influence business leaders across the APAC region.
  • Sound judgment and strategic thinking

What you can expect

The Regulatory Engagement & Exam Management Manager holds primary accountability for the examination execution. Provides leadership and guidance to business leaders on exams, inquiries and other interactions. May manage other specialists. Responsible for providing leadership direction, attracting, assessing, developing, motivating and retaining a successful team in the following activities: Exam Management; regulatory inquiries; ongoing supervision meeting; regulatory responses; and regulatory activity tracking, reporting and escalation. Responsible for ensuring consistent quality of activities, processes and outputs by establishing effective review practices across teams.

What you will do

  • Oversight of intelligence about regulatory agencies
  • Responsible for notifying impacted stakeholders of regulatory agency changes, news and areas of focus & nbsp; Regulatory Interaction Oversight
  • Prepares executives and business leadership on key messages to present when working with regulators
  • Provides regulatory examination, inquiry and meeting oversight, guidance and support
  • Ensures a qualified exam manager is assigned for each exam
  • Conducts regulatory interaction oversight activities: ranging from oversight reviews for use of enterprise tools and compliance with exam management standards, to continuous support/dialogue with the Exam Manager/Exam Team
  • Responsible for tracking examinations, inquiries and meetings
  • Prepares reporting on examinations, inquiries and meetings
  • Responsible for escalating any regulator concerns, emerging themes or issues
  • Manages training on exam management process, regulatory interaction protocols and tools
  • Supports regulatory findings process for APAC
  • Supports regulatory issues management process for APAC
  • Attended monthly COO calls for APAC Risk with APAC CRO and Credit & Market Risk COOs
  • Attended monthly meetings with Corporate Audit for both APAC Risk and COR
  • Act as a delegate for approvals of SLT members who were out of the office / on long term leave
  • Attend monthly COO calls for APAC Risk with APAC CRO and Credit & Market Risk COOs
  • Attend monthly meetings with Corporate Audit for both APAC Risk and COR
  • Secretary for the APAC Regional Risk Committee
  • Prepare minutes for the RRC
  • Interact with Global governance & strategy team on governance requirements for APAC
