Philanthropic Client Manager

Richmond, Virginia;

Job Description:

The Philanthropic Client Manager serves as the primary relationship manager and point of contact for philanthropic clients for Bank of America’s private wealth management business. In this role, the PCM is responsible for overall client satisfaction, service excellence and execution of client goals for a diverse array of nonprofit, foundation and charitable trust clients. The PCM works closely with and is responsible for coordinating the full array of teammates surrounding each client and implementing annual action plans for each client. The PCM is also an integral part of growing the philanthropic client business responsibly and representing philanthropic capabilities in the community. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Administer grant programs and distributions to nonprofit beneficiaries 
  • Work with COIs and the professional community to develop a network of external referral partners
  • Drive relationship expansion opportunities for existing clients and proactively identify prospective clients with sales partners
  • Represent specialized fiduciary and relationship management functions in the sales process, including presentations in competitive bids
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver our full array of integrated solutions to clients
  • Build rapport with clients and internal partners that helps drive trusted relationships and client satisfaction
  • Promote the full breadth of our philanthropic services and solutions internally and externally to grow business
  • Ensuring philanthropic accounts are in compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures and managing fiduciary risk
  • Provide coaching and oversight of administrative and support staff, working collaboratively to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables

Requirements:

  • 5- 7 years directly related experience in nonprofit, foundation and/or wealth management roles working directly with clients, principals and decision makers
  • Significant knowledge of the nonprofit sector and the legal, tax, investment and compliance aspects of philanthropic administration
  • Experience managing and administering professional grantmaking programs on behalf of private foundations and/or charitable trusts
  • Strong communication and influence/collaboration skills
  • Ability to assess business risk, escalate identified issues to partners and see through successful remediation
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
