Role Description:

The EMEA Reconciliation, Billing and Control team are responsible for managing a wide variety of reconciliations with focus on risk and exposure management and process improvement for the Cash Equity, Debt and Prime Brokerage businesses including front to back, inter/intra company and custodian reconciliations.

Key to success in the role will be the active participation, not only in maintaining the day to day controls and risk management, but also the ongoing work on process improvements and mandatory new business projects.

The candidate will get the opportunity to develop greater understanding as to how BAML operates as a whole, allowing for interaction with various operational teams.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Timely resolution of breaks
  • Timely matching of breaks
  • Working towards meeting daily, weekly & monthly targets
  • Cross-training in order to cover all functions as the need arises
  • Identifying control gaps and closing them ASAP
  • Work to identify new accounts necessary in GRS to support new entities
  • Accurately complete documentation for new account set up & submit to relevant support teams
  • Become involved in testing of new processes/flows/recons
  • Carry out root cause analysis and resolution of issues
  • Access Recon Integrity and work to make improvements where necessary (Proofing and Out of Balance calculations
  • Support the reconciliation infrastructure
  • Automatch Validation. Identify match pass weaknesses, as well as suggest new passes to actively improve recon match rate percentages
  • Analysis of break allocation, review & improvement of rules
  • Testing to ensure any process or rule changes are accurate
  • Working towards meeting daily, weekly & monthly targets
  • Cross-training in order to cover all functions as the need arises
  • Identifying control gaps and closing them ASAP
  • Escalate potential risks and exposures to your Manager
  • Develop, improve and maintain procedures

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage and resolve queries independently and able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in both written and verbal context
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards when dealing with tight deadlines, high volumes and demanding clients
  • Understands and follows internal operations policies and procedures
  • Understands operations settlements and cash management processes and procedures
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) effectively
  • Assesses personal and technical abilities; identifies limitations and seeks assistance when situation requires
  • Knowledge of key internal systems such as GRS, RAM, EBAR is an advantage
