Job Description

Global Custody and Agency Services (“GCAS”) is a business unit within Global Banking and Markets under the Equities line of business. GCAS products include Custody, Escrow and Issuing and Paying Agent services.

GCAS has been building out a global product offering of custody, IPA and Escrow services to GBAM clients. A key strategy is to leverage the universal banking model; collaborating with Investment Bank, Corporate Bank, and Global Transaction Services teams to provide a unified end-to-end advisory, funding and settlement solution to our clients. GCAS serves to deepen relationships with GBAM clients and targets and to enhance profitability of client relationships.

GCAS offers a global product offering across all regions which leverages the existing Bank of America infrastructure and footprint; maintaining a close relationship with banking partners in each region alongside a consolidated product, platform and servicing model.

LATAM is relatively new but growing region for GCAS. There is a core base of Financial Institutions and Large Corporate clients which has grown over the last 18 months. We have developed a strong relationship with the GTS and Corporate Banking teams in region.

Responsibilities

  • Represent GCAS within Bank of America LATAM

  • Understand and help to implement the GCAS strategy in-region with a particular emphasis on our sustainable growth strategy, client acquisition & selection criteria and our risk approach.

  • Contribute to the LATAM strategic sales plan for GCAS to target key clients, broaden product coverage, ensure a strategic placement of our products with internal partners and become a significant contributor to the Bank of America LATAM franchise

  • Continue to develop close working relationships with GBAM regional partners (GTS, Corporate Banking, Investment Baking and Global Markets) and driving growth through Bank of America channels

  • Directly communicate to and explain the GCAS product set with potential clients through presentations, client meetings, conference attendances and other forums in conjunction with regional partners

  • Maintain ongoing communication with existing GCAS clients, where appropriate, to ensure a positive client experience, develop a sense of partnership and facilitate organic business growth from existing clients.

  • Working closely with peers in other regions to deliver a coordinated global offering for clients and growing cross regional referrals

Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with the Latin America region

  • Knowledge of the banking industry in the region (within Bank of America or similar)

  • Familiarity with securities markets and an understanding of wider GBAM products and client dynamics is desired, e.g. capital markets transactions, Prime Brokerage & Clearing, Banking, Trade Finance etc.

  • At least 5 years previous banking experience in a product management or product sales role

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to influence and coordinate multiple internal stakeholders to support the product offering. In particular, experience acting within complex organizations across front & back office and support partners is preferable

  • Demonstrate an ability to be a self-starter and to be willing to develop initiatives and take responsibility to see through to implementation

  • Willingness to work within a flexible organizational culture which expects and allows team members to contribute beyond their immediate area of responsibility.

  • Spanish fluency required, Portuguese an advantage

  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, inquisitive nature, problem solving and critical thinking capabilities an advantage

  • Bachelor’s degree required
