Production Services Lead - IBMi (AS400/iSeries) Infrastructure Support, Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

Role Summary:  This role is responsible for technical system coordination primarily supporting IBMi (AS400/iSeries) infrastructure including IBM MQ and WebSphere running on the platform as well as software replication technologies (MIMIX). The candidate should be familiar with IBM Power Hardware (Power 9) and external storage (IBM DS8K) as well. In addition, the candidate will act as the single point of contact for risk and audit related issues/requests for the IBM I platform. The candidate will also focus on process improvements within the team, leveraging operational excellence methodologies to identify and implement more effective procedures to free up capacity for the team to focus on more strategic improvements and improve the overall production support coverage within the platform.

Required Skills:

  • 3 or more years of experience with IBMi (iSeries/ AS400) administering platform hardware/software related products

Desired Skills:

  • Diverse experience in IBM I Hardware/Software products and related Support

  • Diverse experience in Planning and coordination of IBMi (AS400/iSeries) System projects.

  • Diverse experience in Disaster Recovery concepts.

  • Manage Risk and Audit issues/requests, reporting, etc..

  • Ability to help plan/coordinate and execute tasks as necessary.

  • Strong tools experience required – Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio and SharePoint

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work activities to meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and strong task management skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail

  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills as well as an ability to be diplomatic in dealings with a variety of areas across the company

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently

  • IT incident, change and/or problem management experience in a large, complex, high availability organization. 

  • Excellent data analytics skills, able to draw conclusions and connect to actions.  Executive level oral and written communication with ability to present a clear and compelling message. 

  • Knowledge of IT resiliency framework.

  • Ability to work comfortably across a large organization and garner support to achieve results.
