Consultant-Systems Engineer

Job Description:

Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.

Job Description:

The role will specifically support the Electronic Trading and High Frequency Trading application teams for End to End Technology for programs and projects.   The role will have unique project management responsibilities relating to markets trading information technology implementations, upgrades, conversion and recovery. Role has direct and matrix execution responsibility across all technology organizations as well as LOB Portfolio/Program Manager on the business side for delivering the program/projects as well as a dedicated technology team working directly with the markets supporting datacenters.  This role will manages multiple projects as well as a capital budget. Partners with Program and Project Managers and SMEs to create business requirements for technology solutions. Assists with technology estimates, manages low to moderate complexity technology solutions for projects to a full-scale deployment in a live environment. Manages to timelines and communicates project status and has matrix management responsibility. Build positive give and take relationships with stakeholders. Use the right questions and tools to uncover root causes to business challenges, identify opportunities, and make recommendations. Typically requires 25+ years of applicable experience.

Required Skills:

•             Basic understanding of Global Markets

•             Experience working with Electronic Trading infrastructure teams

•             Experience working with dedicated infrastructure resources in a fast paced environment

•             Can work on critical efforts with high degrees of rigor 

•             Strong Project Management Skills

•             MS Project, MS Excel and MS Power Point

•             Experience in project management or business management or associated area

•             Ability to work with others and manage disparate teams globally

•             Ability to manage technical solutions whether by a single team or multiple teams

•             A proven track record in a similar role

•             Good interpersonal skills; positive attitude; team player; flexible

•             Must be able to face off to business and technology leaders when required

•             Strong written and verbal communication skills

•             Basics in financial markets & banking operations

•             Keen attention to detail and strong sense of ownership and accountability

•             Motivated to work cooperatively with other teams across varying levels of experience

•             Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with little to no supervision
