Operations Project Consultant - Business Systems Analysis (SQL, DFFS, Decision Engine, Workflow)

Westlake Village, California;

Job Description:

This position fills a critical role in supporting Loan Modification production systems.  The role involves conducting root-cause analyses of potential production defects, determining the scope of the issue, devising rules-based controls as stop-gap, then collaborating with the business units and development teams for creative solutions.

System components include but are not limited to: data aggregation, business rules decision engine, finance math functions, workflow and case management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct gap assessments between current loan modification processes and new laws, rules and regulations
  • Perform defect root-cause analysis of complex issues, determine impact using advanced querying skills then devise short-term and long-term solutions
  • Develop queries to validate implemented technology solutions
  • Develop ad hoc reporting
  • Maintain SharePoint sites
  • Communicate statuses, escalate and articulate issues to stakeholders
  • Analyze historical issues and defects, detect patterns then promote thematic analysis for strategic solutions
  • Understand business processes, solicit and generate own enhancement ideas, document for and articulate to technology partners
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for other employees but does not directly manage others

*Remote work is not available for this position. The Operations Project Consultant must be able to work on-site at our Simi Valley or Westlake Village location.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience with handling large data set with the ability to transform information, conceptualizing the impact, then presenting concisely with sound business conclusions and recommendations.
  • Medium to advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Medium to advanced proficiency in Dynamic Forms for SharePoint (DFFS)
  • Prior working experience in Production Support
  • Have a solid understanding of development and deployment standards
  • Should have the ability to work in a complex environment that involves articulate discussions with business, legal, risk and technology teams
  • Must be accountable, highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, computer science, finance or business
  • Prior working experience in Software Quality Assurance Testing

  • Knowledge of MSP
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA, VA loan modification programs

Provides consulting expertise to line managers on productivity issues, analyzes market and operational impact in the business brought about by the project parameters. Researches and documents organizational reviews, workflow analysis, management and staff analysis. Develops project plans including estimates of cost and resources required. Defines project scope to others outside of operations that may become involved in or impacted by the project. Requires a thorough knowledge of the operations area.
