Software Engineer III - Charlotte, NC

Job Description:

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

Overview:

  • RGW (Relational Gateway Warehouse) Tech Lead/Developer: assume technical lead and primary development and support activities for RGW database, which houses historical wire payments data.
  • The candidate will be the primary technical development lead and provide L3 support for legacy RGW data store environment on AIX and Oracle, as well as strategic platform migrating to Linux internal cloud environment running Exadata.
  • Candidate will also oversee Application Manager Responsibilities for this platform, including managing risks, ensure compliance to standards, and facilitate communication and collaboration across the organization for multiple audits, assessments, and adherence to information security guidelines.

    Responsibilities:

  • Modify scripts, promote code through LLE’s, unit test, attend project meetings, prepare and publish documentation.
  • Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks including-requirement gathering, designing, developing, reviewing code written by other programmers, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementation.
  • Developing solutions by designing system specifications and using programming standards.
  • Strong development experience with database and database technologies including Oracle Exadata, Oracle SQL, PLSQL, partitioning and database optimization.
  • Knowledge of NDM, MQ, Java, XML technologies helpful.
  • Fully competent to work under general direction on the most complex projects, often in multiple phases, and seeks guidance and direction from more senior associates or manager.
  • Person will need to interface with multiple teams across the enterprise for successful completion of projects including architecture, data management, project management, business development, compliance and infrastructure.
