Digital Banking Analyst I

Job Description:

The Digital Analytics Team is tasked with helping advance all aspects of Bank of America’s digital strategy. They help drive strategic and tactical decision making, leveraging data and analytics to monitor the digital landscape and the customer’s digital behaviors.  It is a fast paced environment given constant competitive pressure and evolving customer expectations.  The role includes understanding how customers are adopting & using our Digital capabilities/features, how they engage with us on our digital platforms, how they choose what interactions to do with a bank associate and what they can so self-service and generally, what do we need to do to meet ever-changing digital needs of our customers.  The work includes analyses of Erica, Digital Product Sales, Customer service via Digital, biometric adoption, Digital Wallet usage, Payments, Transfers, Zelle, Digital Appointments, Bank Amerideals, Mobile check deposit, Automated Teller, and many more.  The role requires the individual to be able to proficiently use data tools & techniques to extract information and transform the data into meaningful and actionable insights.  The analyst is expected to work with partners to understand the business question, develop an approach to solving the business question, gather and analyze the data, and provide a recommendation based on the findings.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring, managing, and transforming data into meaningful information that supports BAC’s Digital strategy and tactical business decisions.
  • Understanding how customers are using Online and Mobile (e.g. what features/insights should we add next) and interpreting for leadership.
  • Conducting deep-dives into customer behavior to identify digital engagement successes and opportunities.
  • Executing observational studies to identify key drivers of customer Digital channel engagement, and more targeted ways to introduce new Digital capabilities (e.g. Mobile Wallet/Apple Pay, Erica) to BAC customers.
  • Independently gathering relevant data and business knowledge, via discussions with subject matter experts, analytics peers, or internal/external research.
  • Analyzing client traffic & sales opportunities across the various Digital, self-service, and human assisted channels.
  • Guiding analytics & insights to identify transaction migration opportunities through the adoption of Digital and alternative self-service channels (e.g. Advanced Centers, ATM, & IVR).

Required skills and Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree with strong quantitative background in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics
  • 3+ years of analytics experience in support of a product, channel or segment with ad hoc analytics as primary output
  • 3+ years’ analytics experience demonstrating strong proficiency in utilizing SAS/SQL
  • Comfortable and effective in tackling unstructured analytical challenges; ability to translate data into meaningful insight
  • Demonstrated data skills with large data stores, comfort with navigating and connecting disparate data sources
  • Strong demonstrated ability to summarize and interpret large amounts of data; experience with relational   databases; Statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in extracting, preparing and synthesizing data present in multiple systems using appropriate tools/systems (SASGRID, Super Putty etc.) for analysis.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and milestones with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid packaging and presentation skills utilizing MS Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to build key relationships and influence thinking of internal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in R, Python, SQL, MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of and experience with BAC data, "W", CCBR, THOR, PAM and more
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytic techniques including propensity models, segmentation, and decision trees

  • Digital product experience.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g. Tableau).
  • Text Analytics experience (e.g. NLP).
