Cyber Crime Brand Protection Specialist

The Cyber Crime Prevention team within Global Information Security is responsible for protecting the Bank of America brand and the customer and client experience by proactively detecting, disrupting, and mitigating cybercrime.

The Cyber Crime Brand Protection Specialist function will sit within the Digital Brand Protection team and will be key in driving out the team’s mission of proactively preventing and disrupting unauthorized use of the bank’s digital brand assets to mitigate reputational risk and reduce fraud losses. 

The candidate will instrumental in driving out services, that include, but not limited to: 

  • Partnering across the enterprise to protect the bank’s digital brand assets from cyber crime
  • Managing online digital brand risk
  • Reducing the usage of digital brand assets to conduct cyber crime
  • Identifying emerging risk targeting digital brand assets
  • Enhancing & remediating digital brand asset controls

Successful candidate will have strong process and program skills and be able to quickly assess end to end processes that could impact the Bank’s brand.  A working knowledge of international financial processes, such as payments or wires, is strongly preferred.  The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and can speak to processes, tools and technologies that can be support and protect the Bank’s brand.  Self-starter, takes initiative and possesses strong analytical and creative skills.   Can successfully influence across the organization and all levels.  Works well with others.  The candidate is required to be tech savvy and interested in learning how technologies can provide value as well as risk to our brand and the firm.  Strong verbal and written communication skills required.  Successful candidate must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, evolving environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Execute the strategy for Cyber Crime Brand Protection
  • Become a strategic partner with lines of businesses and front line units to reduce exposure to cyber crime
  • Ensure thoroughness and accuracy when leading the team in accomplishing tasks
  • Coach and guide cross-functional stakeholders to identify gaps, to identify solutions, and to facilitate implementation
  • Demonstrate effective Stakeholder management and communications
  • Build trusted relationships with key cross-functional business partners including multiple product teams, regional offices, and support functions
  • Understand relevant laws, rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of current and emerging anti-cybercrime product offerings
  • Identify and research opportunities for Digital Brand Protection with an end-state objective of providing recommendations and partnering with stakeholders to determine value add to overall organization.
  • Identify and support emerging threats to the Bank of America brand
  • Provide Domain Name Service (DNS) Protection Management/Oversight
  • Create/Maintain Processes/Playbooks
  • Drive thought leadership and insights about use of brand assets to conduct cyber crime

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • A broad knowledge of information security principles, financial crime, and cybercrime
  • Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional executive presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent influencing and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to be comfortable delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding
  • Strong leadership skills and qualities which enable you to work with peers and various levels of management

Enterprise Role Overview:

Responsible for supporting the Cyber Crime Protection strategy.  Assists in cyber crime response and investigation efforts and processes. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the Cyber Crime Protection program by researching and partnering to define enterprise requirements. Leverages monitoring and detection products and knowledge of cyber crime issues, threats, and mitigation techniques to protect the enterprise. Partners with stakeholders across various functions to improve the firms cyber crime resilience and client experience. Supports the engagement with customers, clients and stakeholders across various lines of business.
