Portfolio Management Senior Associate (San Francisco, CA)

Job Description:

The Portfolio Management Senior Associate (PMSA) is an investment specialist role that has primary responsibility for assisting Portfolio Managers in providing integrated investment advice and portfolio management services to high net worth clients.  PMSAs are investment product experts who act as an additional point of contact for clients and internal partners. 

A successful PMSA will:

  • Actively support Portfolio Managers and the broader client team to meet clients’ needs and expectations. 
  • Support Portfolio Managers with portfolio construction, performance and other analyses, including presentation of investment options (such as proprietary or 3rd party managers) in-line with client specific needs;
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of client accounts to assure adherence to asset allocation guidelines and investment objective outlined in the Investment Policy Statement;
  • Assist in developing and/or delivering of solution-specific investment proposals;
  • Proactively identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and engaging in meaningful interactions with associates and clients;
  • Be responsible for:
    • Trading and portfolio rebalancing;
    • Creation of accurate performance reports for clients;
    • Compliance management, including annual reviews (Reg 9), asset allocation variances, transaction monitoring and concentration documentation and monitoring, as well as other ad hoc initiatives around risk items; 
    • Market and platform research, investment idea generation, when appropriate;
    • Other administrative duties, as required. 
  • Leverage experience and expertise to manage and/or execute client investment transactions;
  • Coordinate with client teams and partners to deliver integrated services to the client; identify and resolve issues in an effective, timely manner; and
  • Ensure adherence to all internal policies and compliance to legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience with a financial institution focusing on high net worth client service and sales
  • Ability to successfully complete assessment of critical skills
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Law desired

Bank of America Private Bank provides trust and investment management services to clients working under a fiduciary standard.  PMSA position is not licensed, although pursuit of a professional designation, such as CFA, CFP®, CTFA, etc., is supported.
