Associate / VP - Financing & Clearing Product Specialist

Business Overview

BofA’s Financing & Clearing business is the industry’s premier clearing provider to institutional broker dealers servicing market makers,  proprietary trading firms, agency/research shops, investment banking, and ATSs/ECNs.  Our product focus includes options, equities, ETFs and ADRs.  Our broker dealer clients are among the largest and most sophisticated global firms. 

The role is focused on overall platform, product expansion support and scalability, as well as client profitability, legal entity management, business policy management, and industry engagement.  There is a need to directly work on multiple projects and initiatives,  in partnership with support groups across Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, Compliance and Product Management.  The individual will have daily interaction with business and account leads to support revenue growth.

The ideal candidate would have experience and knowledge as to the inner workings of trading, clearing or financing with a focus on broker dealers and equity products including options, ETFs and ADRs.

Role Responsibilities:

  • You’ll be working in a group tasked with managing a business that enables BDs to interact with the marketplace, its products, exchanges, clearing houses, regulations and financing and liquidity needs.
  • The business and platform require significant specialization developed over years and market evolutions
  • Strategic vision for the platform and client experience by partnering with support groups across Ops, Tech, Risk and Compliance, to expand its offering, improve scalability and grow revenue.
  • Support market structure, industry advocacy and client on-boarding.
  • Identify gaps in current product offering and establishes plans to address
  • Apply responsible growth and risk management view across all initiatives
  • Program planning:  Translate business goals into strategic objectives and actionable programs, secure funding & prioritize projects
  • Business Requirements Setting: Collaborate with stakeholders across the firm to define & document detailed business requirements for specific programs / projects
  • Project Management: Create project plans, drive progress & accountability against defined milestones
  • Oversight:  Support a growing number of routines across legal entities, complex platform and expanding product offering.
  • Client Engagement:  Work with clients to understand their needs
  • Profitability:  Team with support partners to understand client profitability as well as scalability and efficiency

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses; individuals who are not yet licensed will need to obtain licenses within 6 months of their start date
  • Project management skills: Create project plans, drive progress & accountability against defined milestones
  • Proficiency with excel
  • Strong attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Team player; must work well with others as collaboration is required to be successful
