Design Program Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Program Manager to execute operational and process strategies to ensure the Experience Design (XD) organization provides the highest possible value.

As a design program manager, you will

  • Be a strong and resourceful workflow and team manager who actively drives results

  • Support cross functional design portfolios delivering the highest efficiency through all project interactions

  • Facilitate scope definition and prioritization with Design Directors, Associate Directors and partners

  • Ensure XD is meeting partner expectations by focusing on high quality execution of scoped work

  • Collaborate with Digital Design & Delivery leaders and partner organizations to optimize resource deployment across the entire portfolio

  • Produce regular portfolio status and analytics reporting

  • Facilitate continuous E2E process improvement and streamlining of routines to allow greater productivity and integration of the XD team across the enterprise

  • Aggressively and seek out any and all issues blocking the XD organization from providing the highest possible value. Proactively collaborates across all organizations to find creative solutions.

You’re a person who has (required skills):

  • 5+ years of project/process management or business experience.

  • Strong process knowledge including User-Centered Design, Design Sprints, Agile and other process methodologies used in the digital environment.

  • Experience with Atlassion tools such as Jira and Confluence

  • Knowledge of and practice at multi-channel industry standards and best practices.

  • Strong verbal and written communicator.

  • Working knowledge of software used by designers.

And you are a person who:

  • Makes stuff happen: Uses defined and ad hoc processes to get the job done. Proactively inspects, detects, and juggles to find the best way to make things happen. Provides real leadership and acts as the hub of knowledge and source of truth for initiatives. Influences people, anticipates and resolves issues, sees the big picture.

  • Brings teams together: Inspires individuals and teams to recognize the value of getting things done. Nudges, leads, empowers, facilitates, and communicates to get teams to make things happen.

  • Solves problems: Leverages broad digital knowledge to identify and drive solutions. Understands overall strategy, execution tactics, business drivers, technical capabilities, and more to effectively engage cross-organization teams.

  • Navigates: Great communicators and networkers who can drive conversations with all teams engaged in the digital space. Speaks the languages of design, business, and technology to drive progress through respect and understanding.

  • Organized juggler: Works on multiple initiatives at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately with a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the overall experience. Advocates for smart application of process to get highest quality work at the fastest pace.

  • Learns and adapts: Keep pace with the ever-changing digital environment iterating designs through Lean XD, Agile, and other modern design/build processes.

You’ll be better prepared if you have (desired skills):

  • Master’s degree, PMP certification or commensurate work experience

  • Financial or similar industry experience
