Sr. Credit Officer (Director)

Our Line of Business:

Global Markets Credit (GMC) is a division of Enterprise Credit (EC) within the Global Banking & Markets organization of Bank of America.  GMC is responsible for originating and underwriting a large portfolio of key clients across asset managers, structured finance, central clearing houses etc., managed by Bank of America’s GBAM client team. As a core member of the client team GMC partners with Global Markets sales & trading, Risk Management, Legal & Documentation etc. to drive revenue growth while maintaining appropriate risk disciplines specific to the respective credit portfolios.

Description:  The Sr. Credit Officer effectively executes broad credit risk management responsibilities within EC for a key portfolio of Asset Manager relationships. 

Primary responsibilities include:

* Team lead responsibility for a large portfolio of revenue generative asset manager relationships trading derivatives across FX, swaps, repo etc.

* Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Global Markets, Risk, clients, Legal & Documentation, Audit & onboarding teams etc.   Act as the credit expert across the business.

* Continued development and deep understanding of the industry, portfolio of clients and Global Markets product spectrum to assess risk solutions that balance risk & return.

* Independent high quality credit analysis and diligence with a focus on business rationale, key risks, sources of repayment & profitability to support justifiable credit recommendations. 

* Timely approval of transactions and negotiation of credit documentation to ensure continued portfolio asset quality, speed to market and a suitable risk / return profile.

* Continued monitoring of clients industry including developments, events, regulatory changes, establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the clients’ credit life cycle.

* Solid communication and presentation skills; team player with a positive attitude.

* Participate in strategic projects to support business goals, governance etc.

* Independent assessment of the portfolio and work routines for streamlining / simplification.

Required Skills

* 7 - 10 years’ experience in counterparty credit risk with knowledge of funds, trading & treasury products and legal documentation e.g. ISDA/CSA, GMRA, GMSLA.

* Able to soundly manage the portfolio and justify rationale for recommended transactions.

* Must have ability to manage a large portfolio of key clients, possess strong credit skills and transaction experience, and demonstrate the ability to work with senior officers, business partners, and clients.

* Proven track record dealing and building relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

* Requires effective communication style and ability to manage multiple priorities - must be a team player
