Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum 3+ years or more relevant work experience in administration of data backup
  • Communicate effectively with team, managers and employees at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to Work in shifts during APAC hours & on Oncall rotation for Operations Support.
  • In-depth knowledge in Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Volume Replicator and Veritas Auto Image Replication
  • In-depth knowledge in EMC Data Domain
  • Good knowledge in Scripting, Automation (shell and python)
  • Good knowledge in Linux/Windows, Storage Area Network & Network Attached Storage (SAN/NAS)
  • Good knowledge of Cohesity is an added advantage
  • Ability to manage client escalations and negotiate resolution.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and comfortable escalating to management when required.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate at all organizational levels.

What you can expect

  • As part of the Asia Pacific Backup Services team, you will be responsible for managing the APAC Backup Infrastructure with shift coverage and oncall rotation, and you will be working closely with various teams across different regions.
  • This role will be based in Singapore and you will be responsible for managing end-to-end backup and restore services for clients in Asia Pacific which include but is not limited to virtual machines, servers, databases, Network Attached Storage and appliances.
  • Managing & Learning in an Enterprise environment participating in Business Continuity Plans, data centre power down events, regulatory audits, annual backup restore exercise, hardware refresh, migration, incident management, service requests and projects.

What you will do

  • Be responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for all backup systems and services across the enterprise, including administration, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure enterprise scalability and performance for backup environments through proactive capacity planning, performance control and configuration adjustments.
  • Install, maintain and upgrade backup hardware and software.
  • Maintain documentation of policies, configuration, operation and troubleshooting procedures, and service records for backup hardware and software.
  • Participate in the assessment of new requirements, design and technical standards.
  • Provide governance, ensure compliance and adherence to Laws, Rules and Regulations.
  • Actively participate and provide support in audit, regulatory, compliance inspections, interacting with auditors, risk team, management as needed
  • Provide oversight and guidance for a variety of projects related to backup, reviewing project plans, documentations, drawings and interact with internal and external teams.
  • Initial and local escalation point for Backup Operational issues and requests. Follow escalations through to completion ensuring all parties are updated as required.
  • Produce Operations reporting, updates and metrics.
