Investment Strategist I

Job Description:

The Oversight team within the CIO Office is responsible for providing an independent oversight of portfolio performance and risk of CIO managed portfolios. The selected candidate will assist the team with portfolio analysis and risk management for over 400+ CIO managed portfolios. 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Analyze portfolios in FactSet and communicate results to internal audience, including head of portfolio management, portfolio managers, and legal, risk, and compliance partners.
  • Create and run performance attribution reports in FactSet to validate the degree to which portfolios are adhering to investment guidelines and to quantify the main drivers of performance.
  • Evaluate incremental risk contributions of securities in portfolios in FactSet and ensure that portfolio risk profile is consistent with their investment mandate.
  • Measure portfolio performance relative to benchmark in FactSet under various markets and economic stress scenarios.
  • Develop and enhance the team’s performance attribution, risk management, and on-going monitoring capabilities.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • 3 to 5 years of previous work experience in a quantitative role in public or private markets.
  • Display strong written and communication and outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within and outside of the Line of Business.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, quick learner, with the ability to work as an individual contributor as well as part of a team.
  • Graduate degree from a competitive university in a quantitative subject (financial mathematics, financial engineering, mathematics, statistics) highly preferred
  • Proficient in writing scripts in R, Python, SQL, and VBA ideal
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, and Morningstar Direct idea
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or working towards the CFA designation a plus
  • Series 7 and Series 63 are required and must be obtained within 90 days of start date
