Role Description:


In this role, the Trading Application Support Specialist will be responsible for providing level 1 and 2 supports of trading applications used by the Equity Trading business, proactively monitoring and resolving incident and implementing solutions. Along with driving process improvements and plant automation, the Specialist will be actively liaising with business users and the development teams in order to resolve production issues in a timely manner and maintain application stability.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Front office High Touch and Portfolio Trading systems which include Order Management Systems, Execution Systems, Post-trade booking and allocation systems and Client Reporting systems.

Team:

Team of 6 spread between London and Johannesburg

Core Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Risk and PnL applications
  • Strong knowledge of Solaris UNIX and LINUX
  • Working knowledge of FIX Protocol.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Experience writing Perl or UNIX (Solaris and Linux) shells scripts
  • Experience with MS SQL, Sybase
  • Strong knowledge of Splunk & Ansible
