Director - FRTB Program Manager

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Global Markets Risk Initiatives team and take a lead delivery role in strategic and regulatory risk initiatives. The program manager is required to have hands on implementation knowledge gained in Market Risk. The program manager is required to have SME skills demonstrated by risk management experience or BRD delivery, traded products knowledge and program delivery experience demonstrated by delivery of strategic and regulatory risk initiatives.

The Program Director for Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) IMA (Internal Model Approach) will own the end to end delivery and planning for the FRTB IMA program supporting GMFR, FLU and ECM teams. Act as the delivery subject matter delivery expert - own and develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) , detailed delivery plans covering not only technology development but also data quality controls and sourcing strategy , model submission and testing , User Acceptance Testing (UAT), model validation and where applicable ensuring regulatory testing and approval in close partnership with the CRO Regulatory Relations team.

This is a senior Director role with requirement operate both business strategy working closely with Enterprise Capital Management (ECM) team as well as Front Line Units (FLUs) and Risk Managers and covers business processes impacting Risk Management and FRTB IMA - trading /banking book boundary , desk based trading strategy documentation, and connects with other senior Directors leading key programs for example TRIM and Full Revaluation VaR which will be inputs to overall FRTB IMA program.

Deep subject matter in delivering large scale market data and VaR calculation engine transformation and knowledge of FRTB IMA rules are a key requirement for this role. This Senior Director leads FRTB IMA Program Governance with FLU and Risk focus and also supports TOH FRTB Program working closely with our partners in ECM.

Required Candidate Qualifications:

• Must have demonstrated knowledge with deep FRTB IMA regulatory knowledge (or alternatively demonstration of understanding risk analytics / VaR implementation especially integrating full revaluation VaR and transforming market data timeseries)
• Experience gained by working within market risk or trading function working for a large bank and expertise in regulatory risk initiatives program delivery.
• Experience in delivering BRDs as well as complex risk programs are a key requirement of this role. The program manager is required to have traded products knowledge for example pricing and risk management as well as risk model implementation experience.
• End-to-end delivery experience is required. For example owning and establishing risk requirements, model submission and approval milestones, regulatory milestones as well as delivery of the technology and risk testing milestones and operationalizing the delivery.
• Advanced presentation and communication skills with presentation material design and experience in presenting and communicating to senior stakeholders.
• Impeccable attention to detail is required and a self-starter with ability to work independently as or participating in a cross-functional team environment.
