Job Description:

  • Global Markets Credit (GMC) organization is responsible for credit underwriting, ongoing monitoring and portfolio management of Global Markets (GM) financing and traded products transactions.

  • GMC is a global organization which partners directly with Global Markets FLU teams in relation to client selection, structuring and underwriting activities to drive revenue growth while maintaining appropriate risk disciplines.

  • GMC will also coordinate engagement in key control partners including Global Risk, Finance, Credit Review and Audit to accordance with our Risk Framework and internal and external standards.• GMC AM undertakes effective management of credit and trading risk exposures    within established limit, tenor and documentation parameters, together with providing risk assessment, transaction structuring, deal execution and credit risk profile monitoring for non-bank financial institutions throughout EMEA.

  • GMC AM partners with teams globally, including Sales & Trading and Global Treasury Management to drive revenue growth. The team also engages closely with, but independently of, Risk partners, Legal, Operations, Compliance and other areas of the Bank.

  • GMC AM undertakes effective management of credit and trading risk exposures within established limit, tenor and documentation parameters, together with providing risk assessment, transaction structuring, deal execution and credit risk profile monitoring for non-bank financial institutions throughout EMEA.

  • GMC AM partners with teams globally, including Sales & Trading and Global Treasury Management to drive revenue growth. The team also engages closely with, but independently of, Risk partners, Legal, Operations, Compliance and other areas of the Bank.

Job description and requirements

The candidate will be required to support all credit aspects of the portfolio, specifically including:

  • Analyzing fund prospectuses and mandates and preparing high quality counterparty analysis for annual renewals and new relationship requests with a view to formulating and substantiating a recommendation for credit appetite and risk rating;

  • Assist with transactional approvals, for which a familiarity with traded products is useful (some or all of: Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equities, FX, Credit Derivatives); understand how the transactions fits within the counterparty’s and the Banks strategy; liaison with all relevant units such as trading floor, market risk, operations, and legal;

  • Take ownership and accountability for ensuring timely submission of Credit Approval documentation, interim monitoring of clients’ financial performance, and other analysis and reporting as required;

  • Follow, monitor and elevate market trends and events which may impact the credit quality of the portfolio; together with ongoing monitoring and analysis of risk ratings and exposure for assigned clients, as well as ensuring adherence to all aspects of prevailing credit policy;

  • A willingness to undertake ad-hoc departmental project work and special reporting tasks is essential;

  • Developing a working understanding of relevant legal documents, credit agreements and amendments, in order to recommend appropriate credit terms governing transactions.

Required job skills

  • 2+ years of experience preferably gained with an investment bank or other financial institution; experience in working within, or supporting an active trading business

  • Strong credit risk analysis comprising risk-based and conclusion-oriented analytical skills and an ability to defend a point of view.  A particular interest in funds is recommended

  • Knowledge of issues relating to industry risk, transaction risk, an awareness of country risk factors, reputation risk, and operational risk

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral - ability to be concise and with attention to accuracy and detail

  • Ability to influence business partners and stakeholders

  • Good interpersonal skills and team player with a proactive attitude and ability to think independently and laterally

  • Able to quickly absorb and follow credit policies and procedures; demonstrated ability to continuously learn and adapt with a proactive work ethic.

  • Experience and knowledge of financial traded products to include FX, Equities & Credit Derivatives

  • Strong work organizational skills with an ability to prioritise and work under pressure to ensure commitment deadlines are met.

  • Familiarity with legal documentation (ISDA/CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, F&O) and LMA loan documentation.

  • Strong technical skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
