Job Title: Ops Professional MKTS

Role Description:

This Role is for an individual to manage the Day-to-day responsibility for oversight of one of the teams making up the Stock Loan Equity Finance Operations team that support the core Securities Lending business flow. The individual will be required to perform the daily management this team and supporting the following functions -

  • Trade Lifecycle Management
  • Collateral & Exposure management: Ensure the bank is protected from internal & external exposure resulting from Securities Financing activity including Securities Lending  and Repo transactions in multiple assets classes (Equity, Debt and cash )
  • Trade support: Ensuring the timely and accurate booking and amendments to trades facing both internal and external counterparts.
  • Risk management : Timely and relevant escalation of issues to both Ops and Desk management
  • Regulatory: Ensuring BAU processing with the team and product is adhering with relevant operational and business policies.
  • Maintain focus on a robust control environment, mitigate operational and reputation risks faced in the execution of standard flow business and ensure the successful integration of new business opportunities.
  • Establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with key stakeholders across the product including Trading desks, Operations, Technology and Finance across all regions.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with all key internal and external clients, understanding their individual requirements whilst managing expectations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Actively support any business or product objectives, ensuring the team is focussed on delivering cost efficient and effective processes at a competitive price.
  • Ensure the team has a clear staffing plan, mentoring team members and ensuring that long-term initiatives are in place to support business growth and location strategies.
  • Work closely with Project teams with a particular focus on regulatory requirements to ensure we are compliant in our operations.

Core Skills:

  • Product exposure, either directly with the Securities Financing business, or with prior experience within a Prime Services or Equity operations role.
  • Excellent people management skills, demonstrating the capabilities to develop of staff and progressive evolution of a team.
  • Strategic awareness of the external industry and the drivers behind the longer-term objectives of the Operations as a whole, coupled with the capability to translate these objectives into organisational deliverables to meet the needs of the wider strategy.
  • Leadership attributes, possessing the skills to drive the team to support the delivery of strategic and systemic change, with an inquisitive mind-set and a strong drive to deliver process improvement
