Senior Paralegal

New York, New York;

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the review of governmental requests for proposals (RFPs) and the preparation of responses to legal and regulatory responses to RFPs
  • Stay informed of the transaction forward calendar to ensure timely legal review of BPAs and P/OSs. 
  • Answer questions from bankers about standard practice and application of policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with outside counsel, supplying any necessary form documentation and fielding questions regarding deal management
  • With guidance from attorneys, review contracts, documents and certifications sent to state and local governmental clients
  • Provide research on legal or compliance requirements from time to time
  • Maintain an efficient tracking system for RFP responses and other related matters
  • Manage the process for the payment of law firm invoices
  • Assist Legal partners on ad hoc projects that arise

Required Skill & Abilities:

  • A self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and develop strong relationships with public finance bankers and our legal partners
  • Possess strong initiative, excellent people skills and the interest and ability to learn
  • Regularly uses discretion and independent judgment in matters of consequence to the Bank and its clients
  • Focused on effectiveness and efficiency, highly organized, thorough with superior attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Requires four year degree or paralegal degree/certificate or relevant business experience.
