Operations Project Consultant

Job Description:

Responsible for medium - large projects for an operations department, product or business unit. Provides consulting expertise to line managers on productivity issues, analyzes market and operational impact in the business brought about by the project parameters. Researches and documents organizational reviews, workflow analysis, management and staff analysis. Defines project scope to others outside of operations that may become involved in or impacted by the project. Requires a thorough knowledge of the operations area.

Responsible for ensuring stability of applications in production. Coordinates with various support teams across the organization, for problem research and resolution. Communicates with management the overall status and health of the applications. Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause. Provides monitoring of the environment during release or independent change and tracks changes to the production environment for management and executive communications.

  • Performs troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using query and programming skills. Conducts root cause analysis for incidents and problems.

  • Work closely with Technology Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software upgrades, Letter Generation System (LGS). etc.

  • Real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period.

  • Assesses initial severity, gather impacts, creates tickets (REMEDY), engages necessary support teams, and escalates as necessary to ensure timely restoration to incidents.

  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for high severity incidents. A self-starter, motivated, innovative. Able to assess the customer impact and provide tactical solutions.

  • Provide solutions and avoid recurring of incidents. Proactively monitor the production environment and identify the potential incidents.

Required Skills

  • Experience with Composition Products (OpenText Exstream, Messagepoint, LRM, LGS,  Adobe) 

  • Experience in independently leading the refinement of template requirements, managing the template development life cycle to production implementation.

  • Work on cross-channel opportunities for campaigns and other projects

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter, ability to work independently in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to identify, resolve or escalate issues in order to ensure that program timelines are met

  • Experience with system outages, troubleshooting, root cause analysis,

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro

  • Experience with DCRS functionality, Remedy functionality, L3, strategy and resources to troubleshoot production and application issues

Desired Skills

  • Previous Developer experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience

  • Project and relationship management experience

  • Work well independently and in large group settings and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

  • May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives

  • May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application

  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, verbal, and written skills

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement

  • Ability to communicate challenges and successes clearly and foster positive working relationships

  • Work experience in troubleshooting, client communication and release management
