EMEA Human Resources comprises of business facing HR generalists and specialists in areas such as Compensation and Benefits, Talent (including Lateral and Campus recruitment, Junior Talent, Learning and Leadership Development), Employee Relations and centralised Human Resource Shared Service Centre. Bank of America Frankfurt is looking for Human Resources Generalist with experience in German, Swiss, Dutch, Belgium employment law to join our Global HR team in Frankfurt. The Frankfurt office covers additional to Frankfurt also offices in BeNeLux and Switzerland.

The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing HR consultancy, support to country front lines of business leaders as well as other various control functions within the organisation.  The successful candidate will fully understand the business and its strategy as well as provide value added, efficient, proactive and consistent HR consultancy to a fast growing number of employees. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to support the full delivery of HR services to a diverse & growing client group.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Delivering a full HR service and advice to the client group in Germany, BeNeLux and Switzerland.

  • Working closely with UK & US colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of core global processes that are in line with local requirements including compensation, promotion and performance management.

  • Building partnerships and influencing across the Enterprise.

  • Advising managers on HR issues and partnering with specialist functions such as Staffing, Compensation, Employee Relations and Learning & Leadership Development to deliver responsive and pragmatic solutions.

  • Active involvement in ad-hoc projects. Contribute to staff representative’s management.

Core Skills:

  • An enquiring mind and a genuine desire to learn the business and partner closely with stakeholders

  • German and English language fluency (business level speaking and writing skills), French, Dutch, Flemish would be nice to have

  • Analytical mindset, happy to review and translate data

  • Eye for detail and in particular ensuring data accuracy is a must

  • Ability to understand and implement key processes

  • Ability to identify an issue and design a creative solution to solve

  • Commercial acumen and willingness to learn the business of the client group

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of multiple teams, both across the region and globally in a heavily matrixed environment

  • Innovation and creativity

  • Pro-activity / flexibility

  • Knowledge of German, Swiss, Dutch, Belgium employment law.

  • Broad understanding of all major HR disciplines & dealing with complex HR issues.

  • Degree in HR, Legal, Business or other equivalent qualification

  • Excellent leadership, consultative, problem solving, team working & interpersonal skills with proven client relationship building experience

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge, influence and persuade others

  • Flexibility, resilience & experience of working in fast paced environment

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of multiple teams, both across the region and globally.

  • Ability to work in a heavily matrix environment, manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously and escalate as appropriate

  • In depth understanding of experience of working in financial services environment.

  • Proven Excel and Word skills

  • Experience of working in a remote team and independently
