Process Overview:

The GBAMT / ERFT NextGen Technologies Capability (GENTeC) is a horizontal entity within the GBS GBAMT/ERFT portfolio and acts as a horizontal group across multiple NextGen Technologies. Container Migration horizontal is a unique capability set up for strategizing, prioritizing and accelerating the work on Hybrid cloud. The focus is to create tools accelerators, reference architectures, creating strategy and roadmap to containers and onboarding the apps into containers

Job Description:

The Container Migration Engineer is responsible for the strategizing, planning and execution of the goals and objectives of the Container Migration Factory

Responsibilities

  • Onboard applications to enterprise OpenShift platform
  • Identify the key gaps in platform and work with Enterprise teams to implement them
  • Assess and refactor and onboard the applications into containers
  • Come up with container blue print for the application been onboarded
  • Work independently on the plan and highlight key technical risks impeding progress
  • Work with Horizon in onboarding and identifying migration patterns
  • Document cookbooks and develop accelerators to ease onboarding
  • Engage with CIO teams designated spocs, core team and drive the goal
  • Identify automation candidates and improve efficiency of team
  • Strong experience in container technologies like Docker or Podman.
  • Expertise with the RedHat OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge in configuring, deploying OpenShift Enterprise master & node hosts and Cluster capacity management
  • Strong exposure to OpenShift Enterprise resources, namespace, deployment configs, pods, routes and services
  • Contributes to and supports the Enterprise Container Strategy by identifying ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
  • Support multi-tenant OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters – to global standards.
  • Experience with cloud PAAS/IAAS technologies.
  • Experience in Infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and Ops
  • Strong experience in deploying applications of various technologies to Openshift
  • Assist with application security scanning.
  • Expertise in RedHat Linux administration.
  • Good operational skills with Networking, DNS and SSL will be an added advantage.
  • Strong scripting or programming background will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge on DevOps will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a globally distributed team.
  • Full technology ownership of the Innovation Portal middle tier build on Microservices
  • Perform change management and deployment using CRQ and the Horizon stack for CI/CD.
  • Drive application deliverables using the Agile Methodology of SDM 3.0.
  • Document and coordinate delivery of epics & stories with a geographically distributed team of developers and support engineers.
  • Help coordinate events such as code challenges, hands-on learning courses, and POC projects.

Requirements

  • Education: B.E./ B. Tech or above
  • Certificates if any:
  • Experience Range: 8-10+ years in the Technology industry

Foundational Skill: 

  • Working knowledge of Unix, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Knowledge of Horizon
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead by influence.
  • Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
  • Experience with Horizon tools such as Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket required.
  • Experience working with senior leaders cutting across boundaries and influencing decisions
