Business Support Analyst – Enterprise Capital Management

Job Description:

The Business Support Analyst role is part of the Enterprise Capital Management (ECM) Business Management and Governance team (BMG). The BMG team responsibilities encompass capital-related governance, technology & business initiatives, regulatory engagement, operational risk management, internal and external audit management, and business operations. The Business Support Analyst will work in a fast-paced, challenging environment, gain exposure to a wide variety of ECM initiatives, and work with business partners across Treasury, Technology, Finance, Compliance, and Risk. 

ECM is a global team of more than 100 professionals responsible for the efficient and prudent management of the Corporation's as well as its subsidiaries' capital across the enterprise globally. ECM implements the Board’s capital management strategy including issuance, redemption or repurchase of common stock and other capital instruments. ECM works closely with lines of business and guides them to efficiently and proactively manage the enterprise's capital including design and implementation of capital allocation methodologies. ECM also recommends capital related financial resource limits to senior management. In addition, ECM produces and monitors regulatory and internal economic capital metrics including capital adequacy ratios, leverage exposure and risk-weighted assets and oversees the end to end capital measurement process across the enterprise. Partnering with other control functions, ECM manages external disclosures related to capital management including 10Q, 10K, Pillar 3 disclosures and other regulatory filings‎. ECM interfaces with banking regulators globally on all capital related matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and drive adoption of enterprise programs within ECM including operational risk management, records management, spreadsheet controls, model inventories, data management standards, and business continuity

  • Support the ECM governance framework by maintaining Basel 3 regulatory requirement traceability information in collaboration with control partners and subject matter experts and per direction of the Capital Control Council (CCC)

  • Provide project management support and develop content for regulatory initiatives such as Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR)

  • Prepare operational risk deliverables including the Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA), Single Process Inventory (SPI), control metrics and management dashboards

  • Assist departmental audit exams, SOX reviews, regulatory exams, compliance testing, operational risk reviews and issue resolution

  • Design processes and develop procedures to comply with the Capital Management Policy and other internal policies and requirements

  • Develop materials for the Capital Measurement and Allocation Committee (CMAC), CCC, departmental meetings and other stakeholder groups

  • Prepare departmental financial and staffing reports in collaboration with Finance and HR partners

  • Lead ad hoc projects driving results and coordinating stakeholders from multiple functional areas

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of experience working within a large bank in a control function role, business management, regulatory or similar experience

  • Project management experience with demonstrated results

  • Experience analyzing data and preparing reports and presentations for management

  • Strong written communication skills, including procedure writing

  • Effective meeting management and partnering skills aligning stakeholders, building consensus and resolving conflicts

  • Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision

  • Able to work on multiple high priority projects at once, flexibility in a changing environment

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Excel, PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of capital management or other finance area, desired
