Job Title: Europe Regulatory Reporting ESG Lead

Overview of the role:

A new opportunity has become available in the London office for a Europe Regulatory Reporting ESG Lead to join the wider CFO Group.  This role aligns to the European Regulatory Reporting (ERR) Team within the CFO Global Financial Control (GFC) department.  The person in this role will report directly to the Head of Europe Regulatory Reporting.


Leadership and production for the emerging ESG regulatory reporting and asso

ciated interactions with stakeholders inside ERR, CFO and Risk around the topic, e.g. stress testing, external financial disclosures.

Primary activities will revolve around the evolving regulations and reporting of ESG, specifically at this time the “EU Taxonomy” due from 2022, but requires close tracking of the developments on the topic related to data (e.g. availability, quality, meaning/context, sourcing).

The role requires a disciplined individual with excellent product experience who will support and drive adoption of new regulatory reporting requirements, possess a change management mindset and practical experience (e.g. working with Change and technology functions) will be vital alongside willingness to learn new materials (for them and the organization).

The Team:

  • This role is working within the London team, alongside the ERR team located in India, Dublin and Paris

  • This role will leverage other members of the team to support production of the reporting which is infrequent externally, but may require ongoing support to LoB as interest grows in the metrics.

  • Support will also be provided, as with current project set-up, by GFC Change to deliver initial regulatory outputs

Core Skills:

  • >10 years of experience within the financial services or banking industry

  • Excellent understanding of Finance processes including governance and controls, with proven ability to impact on reporting activities and/or apply new knowledge to processes

  • Ability to work with and across a team in multiple locations

  • Proven organizational, motivational and negotiating skills demonstrated within a typical reporting environment (regulatory, financial, quarter end close cycle)

  • Knowledge of European regulatory reporting (preferred ) or deep product understanding to support analysis of products and discussions with Front office

  • Proven experience in reading legislation (GAAP, reg rule) and converting to tangible actions traceable for less familiar stakeholders or to facilitate project progress

  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience for role
