A brand new opportunity has become available for a Merchant Services Sr. Commercial Credit Officer to join the Merchant Services Credit and Transaction Risk Monitoring team based in London.

The Merchant Services Credit and Transaction Risk Monitoring Team is responsible for delivering new account growth balanced with managing credit, operational, and fraud risk across the portfolio. 

The team is aligned to three primary functions; Small Business Underwriting, GBAM Underwriting, and Transaction Risk Monitoring.  Additionally, the team includes internal work groups with responsibility for strategy and analytics, Merchant Credit Policy, Business Control and Quality Assurance, and Business Enablement and Execution.  Merchant Services was brought in house on July 1, 2020 and is continuing to evolve as the product launches and matures over the coming months and years. 

Responsibilities:

  • Applies credit underwriting experience to the new Merchant Services team at Bank of America 

  • GBAM role will support Merchant Services clients with annual revenue of $5MM+ 

  • Seeking Credit and Risk management resource to review and manage high (>$20MM) MCRE GBAM Merchant Services relationships

  • Partners with Client Manager (CM), Treasury Solutions Officer (TSO), and other product partners to assess client needs, design integrated solutions and deliver the bank to clients and prospects

  • Responsible for direct client engagement 

Core Skills:

  • Highly skilled Credit and Risk management resource to review and manage high (>$20MM) MCRE GBAM Merchant Services relationships based in the EU and UK.

  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management

  • Demonstrated communication and analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the enterprise risk appetite, retail and commercial credit underwriting, credit approval, risk rating models, credit monitoring, portfolio management, limits and triggers, and loss reserves.

  • Experience within Credit and Underwriting operating models, originations processes, credit risk control framework, and data management.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner, both internally and externally.

  • Must be comfortable working with senior management across the enterprise (first line of defense) and Risk Control partners (second line of defense).

  • Qualifications include a BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
