Private Bank Senior Investment Strategist

Job Description:

Major Responsibilities

  • Fully focused on the development and closing of investment business
  • Partner with PCAs in the market to drive flows and allocate winning business to local PM team for ongoing portfolio and relationship management
  • Showcase the Private Bank Investments value proposition from thought leadership to broad platform
  • Speak with the voice of the portfolio manager in fostering client and prospect relationships at the macroeconomic, the thematic, and at the portfolio strategy  levels.

  • Broad product and investment platform understanding - fully equipped to differentiate our value, products and services both to internal teams and to our clients
  • Exceptional sales skills; demonstrated ability to attract clients, gather assets, and work in concert with investment sales teams from a portfolio and investments perspective
  • Strong client service orientation attuned to the needs of high net worth and institutional investors. Ability to translate portfolio strategies and results into a compelling investment story that resonates with clients
  • Successful experience in presenting and defending complex ideas in front of challenging and analytical audiences.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Proven track record in driving the complete sales cycle from prospecting to close
  • Demonstrated ability building and influencing  key partnerships internally as well as promoting field adoption and engagement of sophisticated and complex  investment subject matter
  • Commanding presence  coupled with an engaging, energetic style of delivery which  will differentiate the Private Bank and its investment capabilities in the eyes of the client
  • Strong ability to partner successfully
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive to learn with respect to markets, portfolios, and US Trust’s investment platform and capabilities
  • 10+ years of meaningful investment experience in investment management, investment banking, research, or wealth management areas in a leading institution
  • Holistic platform knowledge
  • Deep knowledge and experience in investment and wealth strategies across all asset classes
  • Sophisticated understanding of capital markets, economics, and the investment management industry
  • Ability to influence peers, colleagues and managers across organizational lines to take action on complex, technical or sensitive topics with companywide impact
  • An undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution is required, preferably in business,  economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics or a related field
  • An advanced degree(s) in one or more of the above fields and a CFA designation is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
