Ops Analyst MKTS - DTC Inventory Management - Charlotte, NC

Job Description:

This position will involve various tasks that are used to mitigate firm and client risk.  Primary responsibility is the settlement of physical certificates with DTC.  Daily work will include resolution of settlement issues, responding to internal and external email inquiries, and assisting the conversions desk with manual processes.  There will be daily interaction via email and phone with contra brokers, trade/sales support teams & external agents.  You will use a variety of systems (internal and external), both web-based and mainframe in the course of your day.  

Enterprise Role Overview:

Follows established written procedures and guidelines, provides standard reporting and analytical support. Uses established techniques, analyzes and resolves a wide variety of moderately complex operations problems and initiatives including transactions that require special handling and/or exception handling. Employees in this role typically have a college degree (Associates or higher) or comparable work experience. Required skills include: basic Excel knowledge, detail orientation, ability to manage multiple priorities and multi task, excellent time management and prioritization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, ability and willingness to continuously learn on the job , ability to problem-solve and take ownership of process improvements, ability to work in a team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with various stakeholders. Desired skills for this role include: expert Excel knowledge, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar major preferred and basic understanding of and/or experience in Financial service industry.   • Solid oral & written communication skills
  • Detail Oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to multitask in a high volume/fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage escalations and solve complex issues
  • Ability to independently manage small and medium sized projects
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn and understand FINRA, SEC and other Regulatory rules
  • Flexibility to work until 6:00pm as needed

Desired Skills:

  • College degree, line of study relevant to job role preferred
  • 1-2 years related brokerage operations experience
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle or stock market
  • Understanding of Risk & Control issues
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Strong motivation to succeed
