Head of Digital Payments Transformation

The goal of the Digital organization at Bank of America is to deliver leading content & capabilities which is timely and relevant and provides choice on best next step for customers and clients across all eight lines of business. In support of that, the Digital Payments organization mission is to create, build and deploy current & emerging payment products and services across multiple channels around the world, driving new growth for Bank of America.

This is a new role that requires building a team tasked with delivering a digital payments transformation roadmap that will truly differentiate Bank of America amongst its banking peers and new entrants into the digital banking eco-system

The Head of Digital Payments Transformation must be a big thinker with strong credentials in Payments strategy, risk management and innovation as well as execution of large-scale change. Must have a mix of capabilities that will lend instant credibility across the team and provide the confidence to challenge existing assumptions and behaviors to achieve the desired outcome.

  • Will be a team of 4-5 direct reports

  • Leading thru >$100mm annual technology transformation budget working across every digital payments, product and strategy teams

  • Positioned as the future leader; not only payments but digital transformation in general

  • Cultural fit is key as influence and partnership will be heavy in this role

  • Role will be highly visible and a fast track to expanded leadership

  • Partnering across many different aspects of the bank to solve complex issues

  • Lead payments transformation strategically, organizationally and operationally

  • Accountable for establishing strong relationships across the digital eco-system and be a champion of innovation representing the Bank in various forums and platforms.

  • Understand emerging technologies, manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, from concept ideation, through socialization, work stream planning, development and deployment.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record of successfully creating and implementing a digital change agenda, combined with a wealth of experience in designing payments products and services that enhance the client experience and grow revenue

  • Experience with e-commerce, payment acceptance, technology development and project management as well as a focus on risk mitigation and issues management

  • Deep expertise in delivering payments capabilities using agile methodology focused on new product development, digital distribution and acquisition, digital retention strategies and growth opportunities

  • Experience leading a high performing strategy & innovation team capable of maximizing impact of technology and payments value creation and adoption of new and emerging technologies

  • Team player who is most comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; Strategic Business Acumen from an Enterprise point of view.

  • Strong organizational and influencing skills across teams, ability to engage stakeholders, to understand change readiness, manage differences and create buy-in.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including excellent listening and consultative capabilities and writing skills.

  • Able to prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment and resolve issues with a “can-do” attitude and sense of urgency.

  • Bachelor's degree required
