Risk Lead (Client Operational Services COO, Risk & QA)

What you can expect:
The role of the Risk Lead is to partner and support Client Operational Services (COS) teams and senior leaders to proactively identify, quantify, prioritize and mitigate risks, improve controls and maintain a focus on operational excellence and sustainable solutions. As a first line of defense team we are responsible for demonstrating, monitoring and managing the effectiveness and adequacy of the risk and control environment supporting COS in line with the enterprise Risk Framework supporting responsible growth.
COS has horizontal responsibility across Global Markets and serves as the primary interface to our internal Global Markets Sales teams and our clients and sits within Global Banking & Markets Operations (GBAM Ops). GBAM Ops provides end to end operational support to our clients and business partners day to day in the processing and settling of transactions of over $1 trillion in cash and securities each day.

What you'll do:
Members of the Risk Lead Team are trusted advisors to COS functions and leadership by providing independent oversight and assessment of their risk environment. It is our role to strengthen the control environment, improve control culture & practices and promote the COS Risk Principles embedding a robust risk culture across the organisation. We aim to create open channels of communication with COS teams to maintain trust and promote transparency in reporting root cause of issues and escalations.
• Close interaction and engagement with COS functional leadership to provide guidance on identified risk and control issues, escalation triage, formal capture of issues & events and development of associated remediation plans
• Coordinate, oversee and manage input and engagement for Regulatory Exams, Corporate Audits and Target Risk Assessments impacting COS functions & processes and associated remediation of findings, including Matters Requiring Attention/Immediate Attention (MRA/MRIA)
• Develop and maintain Process Risk Controls (PRC) inventory framework, ensure adherence to QA Standard requirements including metric performance oversight
• Collaborate and debate with Audit, Compliance & Operational Risk and GBAM Ops Business Controls partners on findings and emerging themes
• Ensure compliance with critical deadlines for risk identification, escalation and remediation
