Consumer AML - Client Quantitative Analytics Manager

Job Description:

Senior manager championing the Consumer and Small Business organization’s AML and Advanced Analytics practices. This individual will partner with Consumer Conduct and Complaints teammates, as well as Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence leaders to deliver integrated, data-driven solutions across Consumer’s financial crimes compliance and client protection space.

Ideal candidates will understand customer, product, and time-series data; will be able to “translate” complex business problems into analytics projects; and will be able to provide actionable intelligence to various levels of management, including Consumer and Small Business executives and risk leaders.  Moreover, the ideal candidate will do all of the above while driving a culture of compliance and operational excellence.  

Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates leadership by articulating AML and Advanced Analytics best practices, by providing mentorship for junior analysts, and by collaborating across Consumer’s Conduct and Complaints spaces to deliver integrated analytics solutions
  • Develops and maintains expert-level understanding of applicable AML rules, regulations and enterprise policies, as well as Consumer’s business control environment for AML
  • Coordinates projects and ensures comprehensive process documentation for all initiatives
  • Assesses current data landscape and provides recommendations for improvement, including issue identification and remediation
  • Challenges the status quo, finding opportunities to deliver both risk mitigation and operational excellence through development or enhancement of policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates influence through clear and crisp presentation of analytical results and recommendations to senior management
  • Effectively relates data to appropriate business context and clearly and appropriately summarizes to audiences, including audit and regulatory bodies
  • Builds strong partnerships and collaborates effectively with business, risk, and technology partners

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or related role
  • Strong knowledge and high proficiency in SAS, SQL, Toad, Alteryx, and/or Tableau
  • Experience extracting from different relational database environments
  • Ability to manipulate data from structured and unstructured sources
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to interact and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership & ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight

Desired Skills:

  • Masters or Bachelors in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Finance, Engineering, or Statistics
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • Knowledge of financial and banking products, policies, operations and applicable procedures
  • Experience supporting highly regulated initiative in a large, complex financial institution
