Technical Business Analyst

Plano, Texas

Job Description:

The technology team is looking to hire a business analyst to help support all initiatives within the platform space.  This generally covers any projects aimed at advancing the strategic software platform responsible for sourcing, processing, and distributing reference data for Global Markets (called Cesium).  However, the role will generally concentrate on projects and programs replated to GRDS and CCAR to start.

This person will work closely with a large software development team (located mainly in the NY and Chicago areas) that is responsible for building & maintaining our technical platform leveraged by other teams within our organization, who are focused on building business applications.  The candidate will be responsible for agile program management, reporting, requirements, design, implementation, testing, and support of various projects ranging from 1 to 10 people in size. 

Project types run the full spectrum for major reference data banking platform technology teams including Regulatory, Internal and External Auditing, Non-Permitted Technology and Software Vulnerability Remediations, System and Processes Simplification programs, general SDLC for any new change to be implemented, System Advancement in line with Enterprise funded initiatives, etc.

Candidate will also assist with general “project 101” duties – requirements gathering, test script writing, QA/UAT testing new system capabilities, documentation writing, etc.

The ideal candidate is a passionate business analyst / project manager who enjoys working on technology projects and a team that operates like a small tech company within a large financial institution.

"Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified:

Key Competencies:

7+ years of experience in business analysis and project management for major US based corporations (banking, financial or global markets focused is a plus)

- 2+ Years of SQL Experience

- 3+ Years of Tech Pseudo Code/ Functional Processes and Analytical Skills

Detailed obsessed and well organized.

Strong verbal & written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoys a collaborative environment.

Works under direction but transitions easily to autonomous delivery, being able to run independently.

Experience in gathering and analyzing requirements.

Working knowledge of one or more of the following:

•               Previous experience with COO duties.

•               Knowledge or experience with SDLC practices.

•               Knowledge or experience with Agile methodologies.

•               Business requirements documentation.

Desired Skills:

•  Financial reference data experience a plus

•  Any technical capabilities or experience a plus (Python, JAVA, SQL, Scala, etc.)

•  Bachelors Degree

General Job Description:

Responsible for capturing and refining business and/or system requirements (based on specialization).

Works with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements, and then working closely with the Development Team to refine the requirement into specifications that can be executed by the team.

Possess a working knowledge of the business and/or technical domain based on their specialization.

Leverages experience and understanding of stakeholder needs to help create a solution, envisions the solution to solve a problem (manual or through software).

Performs Cost/Benefit Analysis to align the technology to business strategy. Gathers & catalogs functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests.

Determines the impact of modifications and enhancements on the application. Acts as the product(s) subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions.

Ensures changes to the application are compliant with bank standards and policies.

Assists users and development team with application testing and troubleshooting, and may help configure test solutions to validate functional and system needs.

Identifies, document and troubleshoot application related problems.

Documents process, procedures and workflows associated with applications. Leads or participate in continuous improvement efforts;

Building expertise in creating, analyzing, and improving processes.

Creates, maintains and presents training materials for end-users.
