We are currently seeking a dedicated Business Analyst to join our team in London. As part of our Central Risk Book Technology team, you will be joining a bold, dynamic environment, with a culture that rewards excellence and nurtures talent. The role is to work as a business analysis / project manager within CRB and assist in the front to back analysis, design, testing, project management and implementation of associated projects and initiatives.  The role will require working closely with the business users, development, other business analysts and support teams to assist in the delivery of enhancements. This is very much a front to back role and will involve communication within all areas of the Bank including middle and back office functions

The Team:

Our team supports the CRB business in the Global Markets and Investment Banking Group. The team provides creative solutions for low touch facilitation of client flow, hedging and smart position management. We are a global team with a solid presence in AMRS, EMEA and APAC. We aim to maintain a global perspective while recognizing and responding to specific regional requirements that differentiate each market. We are a diverse team of experienced developers, business analysts and QA authorities working closely with the business group. Our team supports an existing product set and due to a focus on this business area within BAML, we are also building the next generation CRB platform.

Core Skills:

What will your main responsibilities involve?

  • Day to day responsibilities will include the documenting of the business requirements after close communication with the business users. Liaising with the development teams, both internal and external to the CRB team. Assist in the defining and writing of test scripts and test plans.
  • Project management and co-ordination of projects from inception through to implementation. This will include communication with internal clients like Compliance, Legal and Operations as well as external clients like exchanges / vendors.
  • Looking for opportunities to maximise efficiencies across the wider Equity plant  
  • Operating with primary focus on EMEA system development & enhancement, but also working closely with the Global CRB team
  • Be part of the team's major application restructuring and redesign
  • Participate in other activities like QA, Production support (L1/L2)

What skills and qualifications will you ideally have?

Qualifications:

Degree level education in a technical, numerical or science-based subject or equivalent experience

Essential Skills:

  • Enthusiastic strong-minded person able to work closely with the BA, QA and development teams and help instil a responsible and professional culture.
  • Strong team communication with proven planning/organising skills.
  • Practical business analysis experience within an electronic trading environment in an investment banking or similar environment.
  • Practical project management experience in an investment banking experience.
  • Experienced and comfortable when dealing with business users to ensure requirements are accurate and practical.
  • Experience of the front to back process including middle and back office functions.
  • Knowledge of FIX (heartbeating, login, sequence numbers, message types etc.)
  • Practical, hands on experience with Agile
  • Ability to perform with tight, sometimes mandated, deadlines and function in what

can be a high pressured environment.

  • UNIX scripting
  • Previous hands on experience of QA testing.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Can demonstrate ability to work in a multi-faceted role

Nice to have:

  • A good knowledge of high touch, portfolio and client facilitation business.
  • Order management experience an advantage.
  • Hands on experience within the equity derivatives space and a good understanding of risk and P&L.
  • Experience of working with vendor systems like Bloomberg and any of the major stock exchanges
  • Knowledge in SQL programming skills.
