Architect 2 - Senior Data Warehouse Engineer

Job Description:

The data warehouse engineer is experienced on shared nothing technologies in optimally a number of platforms including Teradata, DB2, Netezza or Singlestore. A qualified candidate should have experience in building, administering, and supporting large scale warehouse environments. They should have a fundamental understanding of enterprise security, database standards, data governance. They should also have advanced SQL experience, knowledge of cloud technologies and concepts, and understand how the business drives value from analytics from data in a lake or warehouse.  The ideal candidate should have multiple years of experience on one or more technologies in a large scale or enterprise focused environment.

Required Skills:

  • Database Administration experience with large scale Enterprise Data warehouse environment builds and operations including design, capacity planning, cluster set up, security, performance tuning and monitoring in platforms such as Teradata, DB2, Netezza
  • Strong understanding of OLAP architecture design, data warehouse data models, star schema concepts.
  • Experience in administering, and supporting RHEL Linux operating systems, databases, and hardware in an enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in typical system administration and programming skills such as storage capacity management, debugging, performance tuning.
  • Experience with scaling enterprise data.
  • Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem and components.
  • Experience with design, build, backup, recovery, high availability and fine-tuning of SingleStore(MemSQL) Database.
  • Proficient in shell scripting (e.g. Bash, ksh etc.)
  • Knowledge of MIT Kerberos and LDAP/AD integration at Enterprise level.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Cloudera CDP distribution to install, configure and monitor all services in the CDP stack.
  • Expertise in writing python scripts and debugging existing scripts.
  • Understanding of Hadoop distributions in the Cloud such  HDInsights, DataBricks, EMR, etc.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse
